The UCLA Bruins suck

Getting blown out right now at home by a mediocre USC team.

It breaks my heart to see Rick struggling so much.

Fauria? Embree? What's going on at UCLA? Bring it home, Buffs!

Scoreboard now reads 84-28 in favor of USC since Rick took over in 2008. Monopoly is definitely over:

Next year will be a make or break year for Slick. He won't be able to use injuries (although he's had numerous this year) as an excuse next year.

can't they fire Rick now ?

this way we would not have to worry about EB going there...

Rick may be one of the biggest frauds ever to coach. He took over two programs near their peak in CU and UW and ran both into the ground. He is the reason CU had the scandal, he is the reason Barnett got fired, he is the reason we had five years of Hawkins. Alas, with the hiring of Embree we are finally restoring good karma to the program.

It must kill Rick to know that his over-recruiting forced him to play hardball with PRich, a UCLA legacy, and the other guys for what turned out to be a minor incident (my take) and chased them away.

Watching Richardson's success in Boulder is going to be a painful process for the next 3 years for Bruins fans.

And to top it off, we will be playing them so they'll have a front-row view. thevil-rubbing-hands.gif

No one likes him, but giving sleazy weazy credit for his successor's failures is going a bit far, and you go two deep on the guy. Fly off the handle much?

A leopard cannot change it's spots. UCLA knew what they were getting when they hired him.

Rick loves the spotlight, but it seems he performs best when he is an assistant coach either in the pro's or college level.

For what ever reason, running a college football team seems to bring out the worst in him

Rick put Katie on the team as an invited walk-on when she had no business being on the team. Without her and her TV dad, the whole BS scandal would never have gained national traction. There were so many other issues regarding recruiting, etc. My point is he set the wheels in motion for ten years of misery for CU football and the university in general.

He did the same thing for Washington. So, yes, I do not like the man.

Rick promised her a try-out, he didn't put her on scholarship. Gary Barnett wasn't forced to give her a try out, he wasn't forced to allow her on the team, he wasn't forced to keep her on the team, and he wasn't forced to open his mouth and put his foot completely inside when a reporter asked him a trap question on national tv.

Rick was, and is, an *****hole. But he is not to blame for Gary Barnett's not having the stones to tell a girl that girls have no business playing contact sports with men, nor is he to blame for Gary Barnett not having the stones to cut her when he clearly thought (correctly)she couldn't kick. Nor, for that matter, is he to blame for Mary Keenan being a heaping plate of man-hater with a side order of racism to go.

Rick Neuheisel is still a c*cksucker though. I'm glad he's floundering at his alma mater, as it opens up our recruiting in LA. If Kiffin can keep bringing USC back to the Paul Hackett era then we have a shot to do some real damage.

I seriously hope we beat him next year. We owe him for ****ing up our program and him beating us twice while at Udub.

You have to admit, it is pretty comical.
I'll worry about EB leaving after he's learned the job. It took Kiesau nearly two full seasons to figure it out and he's one of the brightest football guys who's been studying the game at least as long as EB. I'll give you that EB has passion and personality.

I'm very much hoping that all this money we are giving him leaves him something to hire a very good QB coach and O-Line coach who can help him run an offense. Kiesau and Denver wouldn't be the worst choices. They know the passing and running game, and are not just position coaches.

Denver Johnson will not be back and I am quite happy about that.

"Not the worst choice" is a pretty poor standard for retention of assistant coaches.

I'm sorry, but your evidence for saying Denver Johnson and Eric Kiesau know the running game and the passing game is...what exactly?

Pretty sure Steve Marshall will be a huge improvement over Denver Johnson. Denver Johnson has wasted the best OL talent we've had since...well, since Steve Marshall had us paving over the corpse of Frank Solich's career.

Kiesau has a lot to prove at this point.....He may be bright, but his lack of results will make him a risky hire as an OC...

Denver had the line not under achieving by the 2nd half. A new line coach will be an adjustment and I'm skeptical they can get the Cal guy. If they can great but not confident.

Kiesau not as OC but QB coach. He's a good recruiter and I think he'd be a good complement to EB.

We return a starter everywhere. Even at LT. Starting over with no carryover from this staff could set us back. The o was clicking and we lose little.
