Anyone hear Kordell on Al and DMac today?

Said he would be interested if Embree approached him to be QB's coach. Kordell said his QB's would sure as hell know how to run the rock! Thought it was interesting...

It's a possibility in 2012 but in 2011 Keisau will probably still be around because of his contract.

Not pimping Kordell but if you are only going to keep Keisau for the contract and then let him go, cut him loose now. No reason to wait. $220K is peanuts in the big picture.

He'd actually be great as a GA under Walt Harris IMO.

Kordell was finishing up his degree about 5 years ago. He could come back under a grad asst. Work his way up from there if he wants to and has the desire and ability. I don't want us handing out coaching positions to former players. As much as it's good to have some of them back, it could also create a lot of bad blood within the fam if things go south quickly.

Katie Hnida as special teams coach? that's what i heard...

any past-buff gets a job! sign right up!

I heard the latter half of his visit. Got to hear Kordell and Alfred sing the fight song; that was ****ing awesome.

Don't think that'll be a problem based on the Embree Camera quote: “The next thing I wanted was guys with diverse backgrounds. I believe whether it’s recruiting or having validity with your players, you have to have been there. That’s just my philosophy. So there are going to be guys who have coached at a high-level D-I, coached in the NFL, played in the NFL. Done both. There is going to be a vast array of experiences on there.”

Kiesau's contract will have little to do with his retention.

He is a very bright guy, he's worked with the QBs here and done a pretty good job, and he definitely could help contribute in the Offense in terms of adding an element that EB is probably not real familiar with (Spread offense, zone read, etc). I think it would be a nice match. EB has never run the offense and I think Kiesau can help out there quite a bit.

His buyout will likely be something like $150k and that is chump change in the whole scheme of things.

Kordell could open up the south in recruiting, since he's from Louisianna.

But if I were him, I wouldn't give up an ESPN gig to become a lowly position coach.

Speaking of Kordell, I know Koy Detmer said he was interested in coaching. A bright guy that has forgotten more about qb-ing than most will ever know. Plus, his dad is legendary Tejas HS coach.

Kordell? If he wants to teach running qb fine, his passing skills were um....

Kordell had one of the strongest arms I've seen, the accuracy and smarts could have been better at times.

Embree is not loading up on all CU though, read a quote from him today on it.

What's interesting about this idea is that Hagan was a better runner than Kordell, and DH has been on the staff for years! We should have never gotten away from the mobile QB model.
