CU VS. The Pac-10

Unleash Hell

With CU joining the Pac-10 to make the Pac 12 in 2011, I thought it would be fun to see where CU historically stacks up against the Pac-10. Even with CU's recent struggles, the buffs fair pretty well with the Pac-10 schools, finishing well in the upper half of major categories historically.
CU has a 38-35-1 all time combined record against Pac-10 teams. Add in Utah to the equasion and it a 68-49-4 record in CU's favor.

Colorado has finished in the top 10 in five different decades, only Southern Cal can also claim that.

I would also like to see how we stack up with All-Americans and individual awards. Too lazy to look that up, so that would be great if someone could.

Interesting facts there Unleash!

How do those numbers stack up against other conferences?

Wow has Washington pissed down their leg the past decade in terms of Win %. Yikes. Not that they would be ahead of SC, but more comfortably in 2nd place.

Also, ASU's numbers are inflated because they were King Kong in the WAC for a few decades. They were the Boise State of the 60s and 70s, I believe.

USC is from the Alabama school of counting NC's.

If Billy Jim's Roll Tide Newsletter has a 9-3 Bama team #1, good god let's count it.

CU vs the Pac in Head-to-Head matchups since 1990 is mediocre, however.

2-0 vs UCLA (2002 & 03)
0-1 vs California (2010)
0-2 vs USC (2000 & 02)
0-2 vs Arizona State (2006 & 07)
2-5 against our future division

2-1 vs Oregon (1995, 98, & 01) - all Bowl games
2-1 vs Washington St (1996, 03, & 04)
2-2 vs Washington (1990, 96x2, 99, & 00)
1-2 vs Stanford (1990, 91, & 93)
7-6 vs "other" division

Should be 3-0 vs. Stanford. Two of the bad joke jobs under Mac.

we were a bit lucky in 90. i sat in the student section and watched a Stanford WR flat ass drop what might have been a game-winning TD. Hit him right in the mitts. Kid makes that catch, no NC for us.

Hey now why did you have to go back as far as 1990? We were still actually pretty good against that conference in the 90's. 6-3 with our only big thorn being Stanford. We sweep the rest of our games with that conference up until the last year of the 90's. God I will never forget "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell!

In the 00's is when the tables turned.
