QB & WR coach questions?

Has anyone heard why Walt Harris has not been named QB coach yet? Are we looking at potentially better options or is Harris deciding whether to come to CU?

I hope Kennedy comes aboard at WR coach, but if he doesn't, what do people think about Reggie Moore? Would he be an upgrade over Kiesau or just a fresh start?

Yep. Because of the uncertainty of the NFL labor situation, collecting a check for assistant coaches might be difficult next year. For that reason, there may be some QB coaches who wouldn't ordinarily be available. We need to be patient here.

Walt Harris looks very good, Head coach at two BCS schools and NFL coaching experience. If we can do better than Harris, that would be pretty impressive.
Would the Vikes QB coach be better? There is talk about him going back to Syracuse, but maybe he would go with EB. With his HC expierence and West coast ties, I would think Harris would have more to offer.

football scoop is stating that Kent State will name Darrell Hazell as their new Headcoach. do you think this will clear the way for us to hire Kennedy or are we still looking at other potential candidates?

I'm ambivalent about Kennedy, to be honest. I do, however, like the idea of Walt Harris on staff (despite his career spiral since Pitt).

A lot of talk about Kennedy b/c he is from Boulder and is available, but have you seen anything that suggested that Embree has interest in him? I see no ties betweek Kennedy and really any of the CU staff. I wonder if there's even been a phone call?

I'd think it's much more likely that Embree would hire someone he's worked with or someone who worked with someone he is very close to. Especially at QB. I'd put my money on Harris or some other NFL guy about to become available.

I believe the main connection is that Kennedy worked for Neuheisel in 2001 at Washington. That and the local connection. I don't think his playing time at Boulder High overlapped when Jon or Sean were playing at Cherry Creek, though. In between the two.

Kennedy's been the #1 target from the beginning for Embree.

Regarding Walt Harris, I'm not sure he's being considered as strongly as he once was. If Embree wanted him, he could have had him immediately. Reading between the lines, Embo is waiting on someone else.
