Tate Forcier leaving Michigan?

Tate forcier has been ruled ineligible for the Gator Bowl and might be leaving Michigan:http://www.maizenbrew.com/2010/12/31/1906267/tate-forcier-ruled-ineligible-for-2011-gator-bowl-michigan-loses-its

You could see this coming ever since Denard Robinson took his job. I imagine UCLA is already getting a unicorn ready, but I wouldn't mind seeing Tate Forcier come here and compete with Hirshman in a year. I think he'd be pretty good in a west coast scheme. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Oh my. I've never seen that website before. Having your own website is nearly always a mistake. Letting your parents near a computer is always, always, a huge mistake.

Still wouldn't mind Tate Forcier competing for a job here, depending on what he got suspended for.

Nope, look at the website if you must but BuffNation will not be going down that road. The Forciers and Mr. Embree are on opposite poles.

it would be a gamble. i think we pass on the Force. Embree says we have an "under the radar" guy so hey.

I could get behind accepting Forcier as a transfer. He's good enough that I think the gamble is worth it.

One of the "best" parts of the website is where they posted all the official offer letters that Tate got --- including the handwritten notes by head coaches. Apparently more than a few were unhappy that their personal cell phone numbers were posted by the family.

He's humble, too.

Boo
, buffnik, boo.

He's got trouble written all over him, where ever he goes.

My issue is that if I look at the spring QB competition in 2012, I see Nick Hirschman (RS-Soph) maybe someone like Pittser (RS-Frosh) and no one else as we wait on our 2012 recruit to finish high school and show up. Whatever issues there may be, I feel a lot better about that situation if Tate Forcier (RS-Junior) is in that mix.

Another guy I think Embree should do the due diligence on is Blaine Dalton. Out of high school in the 2009 class, he was rated a high 3* on Rivals (5.7; #12 dual threat QB), a 4* on Scout (#18 QB) and a mid-range 3* on ESPN. He was 3rd on the Mizzou depth chart as a true frosh before getting busted for a DUI (prescription pills that may or may not have been his). He was kicked off the team, transferred to Fort Scott C.C. in Kansas, and is a December graduate. Since he was a full qualifier out of high school, he could join the Buffs in January without any concerns on JUCO credits (he just may need some extra courses in the summer to get eligible for the season). May be a guy we should take a risk on.

It doesn't really matter. Apparently his problem at Michigan is his grades, and if he can't stay eligible there he wouldn't be eligible here. And I imagine he'd be looking at a west coast school anyways, if he's transferring, which isn't certain. In an interview he gave to the Detroit Free Press (link:http://www.freep.com/article/20101228/SPORTS06/12280398/Michigan-QB-Tate-Forcier-talks-about-quick-rise-fall-in-Ann-Arbor)he sounded like someone who is staying put, if he has a choice.

But he's an awfully talented player, and his parents having a stupid website isn't that big of a deal to me. QB's are almost all prima donnas. Tate Forcier has a long way to go before he gets to the Jeff George level of self-love.

I'd forgotten that Dalton left Missouri. He'd probably be a better risk than Forcier, even if
Forcier were eligable. And available immediately.

Isn't there a Cam Newton-type undiscovered talent who is a full qualifier out of a JC, and is a secret Buff legacy out there?
With a rocket arm, size and unlimited mobility, and sort of "aw shucks" charm with the media?

That'd be a BIG bonus if he came to CU. He would have 2 years left as well. Hopefully he doesn't fall into the UCLA or Stanford trap like his brothers. and look what happened to them. NOTHING. the rest of their careers went down the ****ter. Tate seems to be the better of the bunch so hope brings his talents to where they are SORELY needed for once.

Wow, that was one of the best websites i've ever seen! You don't need to look far to find what the issue is with this kid. His dad is a propaganda machine and reading down through the family history, he's completely absolved himself or his kids for any situation that could have gone wrong. Next thing you know, transfer/transfer/transfer/transfer/transfer. If they don't get what they want, that's what they do.

Pass on this kid. Besides, he's not the ideal fit for a pro style game anyways.

I can say I knew virtually nothing of the "QB Force" until I saw that website. DO. NOT. WANT. That kid's dad looks like Mr. Houston and or Mr. Ochs on steroids. Tate Forcier puts the Donna in Prima Donna. He would be a cancer unless he gets his way and I for one do not want to see the Buffs become the handmaiden of another douche who wants his kid to be star QB.

These Fers are crazy! I can't believe that I just read the family history. Writing is obviously not their strong point.

As a family, they tend to prioritize "writing speed" over content.

I'm not familiar with what Craig Ochs' father did. I always thought it was Craig's decision to leave Boulder because of a disagreement with Barnett.

Exactly. Barnett made fun of his religious beliefs, and called him out in front of his teammates, if I recall correctly.

IIRC, Ochs was leading a group in prayer before a practice or game, and GB walked by and made some off-the-wall comment. Can't remember the gist of what was said, tho. Anyway, that basically was the beginning of the end.

I knew Craig Ochs. He was the farthest thing from a "Prima-Donna". That kid had his head on straight. He just didn't get along with Barnett.

...Of course I'm a little bit biased. :smile2:

No. I believe he was a Christian. He was pretty active in the Christian Athletes in Action while he was in HS. At least from what I remembered.

He thought CU was how McCartney had intended it to be (Promise Keepers, etc). But found that Barnett was quite the opposite...

He was also a pretty big CU fan growing up. It was a dream come true for him to play ball at CU. I remember seeing him at the Spring games growing up.
