Hell Yes! I love to hear players say they played at CU on Sunday/Monday night football. He looks good tonight.

Another of genius McDs brilliant moves. Tyler isn't a pro bowler but he is playing like a pretty solid NFL O-lineman. He had a nice pull on that big running play, was into two guys. (Then he gets caught for holding.)

to be fair, he played like crap with the Broncos.

He wasn't great with the Broncos but he played better than the guys they tried to replace him with as backups on the O-line. To be fair any system that makes Clady look bad (last year when he was healthy) has some questions.

He is never going to be an all-pro, maybe never even be the permanent answer at a starting position but he is better than what McD brought in to replace him.

what? who is he better than? Ryan Harris or Clady?

Guys Pulombus is bad, nice to see him still int he pro's but he was bad on the donks, and bad on the lions, cutting him was not a bad move, bringing him back may have been. Not my words but here is an assessment of his play last year:

It’s entirely possible that Polumbus was the league’s
worst regular starter during the second half of the season.
Consider that Polumbus ranked fifth in the league
with six blown blocks that led to sacks despite only
starting for half a year. That only teases at the very
edges of how bad Polumbus was. Denver averaged
4.9 yards per carry on runs to the right side when Harris
was in the lineup; after Polumbus took over, they
averaged 3.9 yards per carry on those same plays.
While it’s impossible to attribute the failure or success
of a running play to one lineman, tape showed
that Polumbus frequently struggled to engulf the man
he was assigned to block at the line of scrimmage, let
alone get any push on runs to his side. And that was
when he managed to stay upright.

Actually, it was worse than crap (whatever that might be). It was painful to watch, he had one of the slowest first steps I have ever seen for a tackle. He looked in over his head.

I haven't had a chance to watch him (except for a few minutes last night). Has he improved much? In your opinion, does he have chance to stay employed for a few years?

classic example of how far you can go in the league with a prototypical body. never thought he was a good college tackle either.

He was playing mostly LG last night except when Okung went out for a little bit. Seems like he did pretty well at LG - maybe better position for him?

Might be better at guard, he's a good athlete but his footwork laterally isn't very good, he gets beat around the end by DEs who can get him to lean one way then go the other. At guard that isn't as much of an issue, movement is more vertical either firing out or dropping more straight back. Tackles have to be able to slide out one way or another and maintain base and contact, guards lateral movement is usually pulling and they can turn and run for that.

Off topic, but wasn't Harris on an episode of MTV's True Life years ago? It was the summer before his freshman year at Notre Dame and it showed him working out a bunch and trying to put on a bunch of weight. It must have worked.
