SIAP...Harbaugh leaving Stanford (rumor)

ESPN Adam Scheffer is saying Harbaugh unlikely to return next season, so maybe Ive overstated things (blame ESPN not me). Anyway, looks like he has many options...

"Again, this is the buzz around the league. This is what people, smart people think is going to happen. That's the sense of people that I know and trust and respect, that Harbaugh will not go to the Niners, that he will go to Michigan, and it'll be up to another NFL job to see if it could entice him and prevent him from going to a place like Michigan.

"But the one thing I feel certain about, Jim Harbaugh is going to leave Stanford."

Hopefully CU can poach a few good recruits. I think one of the better players in CO is currently committed to Stanford

I wonder if Schefter's sources at Dove Valley might improve again now that McDouchebag is gone?

It was in the San Jose Mercury News about three days ago, saying he definetly leave, but whether it was Michigan or 49ers they did not say. Elway has been the latest to be a factor for the Broncs.

Maybe Elway can get in Luck's ear and convince him to declare that he won't play for Carolina - deja vu all over again.

You should read some of the Denver Post comments. 75% of those folks now hate Harbaugh and Luck just for even having the hint of possibility of 'giving up' on Tebow.

That's why I don't read the DP comments. I believe it's been scientifically proven that they cause permanent brain damage...

i wonder if the broncs could get a 2nd rounder for tebow and a low first rounder for orton. probably not. but, it would be great to drop them both and pull in luck at #2. i can dream, can't i?

Best-case scenario: Broncos hire Harbaugh this year, Luck stays for his senior season. Harbaugh uses the #2 overall pick to leverage a 1st rounder in 2011 and a 1st rounder in 2012 from some team that falls in love with a "franchise QB" like Cam Newton, Jake Locker, or Andrew Mallett (read: Bills/Cardinals/49ers/Titans/Redskins/Vikings).

Andrew Luck then gets a non-serious case of food poisoning right before the CU game in 2011 (the only game he misses), as his team loses. Meanwhile, Tebow doesn't adjust to the new offense and demands to be traded. We ship him off to Minnesota for their 2012 1st round pick and Toby Gerhardt. The team that we traded our #2 pick in 2011 then goes 2-14 and we get their #1 overall pick. Orton's contract is up, Tebow is gone, and we draft Andrew Luck after he narrowly misses winning the Heisman (that missed CU game cost him that curse).

Elway-Harbaugh-Luck-Gerhardt go on to form the next great dynasty in Bronco history.

At this point, the delusional portion of the Broncos fan base might run off Luck and Harbaugh for dethroning Tebow

Elway seems pretty happy. I know that Sanford is winning, but maybe he has already locked up the next coach for the Broncs as well.

i say orton´s worth like a 4th, a third if youre relly pushing it. tebow? god knows ... why would anyone trade for him? the guy is completely unproven and nobody knows if he can play qb in the nfl

orton has proved he can play at a very high level. i think he'll get a 2nd round pick, despite my dreaming of more.

tebow... man, i hate the way he throws the ball. i am having the hardest time getting past it. maybe they can take luck at #2 and turn tebow into a tight end. :smile2:

That's the brain damage talking... :smile2:

What can I say. Its hard not to watch a train wreck.

I will say this. If Harbaugh does come to Denver I don't think Tebow will be around very long. I think he will mimic a pure passer/strong run style of offense.

I agree.

Wow, they just asked Harbaugh if he was leaving while presenting the trophy. Just as he wanted to give the MVP award to Luck.

Stay classy ESPN.
