Help! Who is listenable these days? If I'm in the car during the noon to three time period, I like CJ and Klatt pretty well, enjoy the Colorado football and Bronco discussion, which seems to be the dominant topic with those guys. Hastings and Evans are decent, but get sidetracked by a lot of sophomoric bs and Evans seems to enjoy throwing out crap in order to just get a response. Hastings is very good on the Nuggets and Broncos, but his ADD is never far from the surface and he has a difficult time staying on topic. Al and Schlereth are decent, although Al gets pretty out there in bending over backward to take the players side on all issues, even when they're clearly in the wrong. Dmac is completely clueless and seems to be there strictly to interrupt the conversation if it becomes too informative, and to slobber over any unfortunate woman who happens by.

Clough is easily the most knowledgable sports guy in town, but has become completely impossible to listen to. He has no self control whatsoever, loses his temper with about every third caller: misreprenting his callers' positions then talking over them and shouting them down. He's just ridiculously bad. His little pet topics - Cutler for instance - are absurd. Cutler can do no wrong and no excuse is too big of a reach. It seems that 104.3 may be easing him toward the door, moving him from drive time to morning to evening with fewer listeners at each time slot. Too bad that he has no self control whatsoever and his horribly bad temper dictates his decline.
Who do you enjoy listening to these days?

87.7 crew, almost all time slots.

Clough is the worst. He was pretty good back when they had Mark Moser to balance him out.

The problem with 104.3 is their pairings. Big Al dumbs down the drive time show too much. If you can keep him talking about football then he brings some great insight, otherwise he's painful to listen to. Schlereth was a welcomed addition to that slot.

Scott Hastings is extremely likable, but only good in small doses and the guy has some legitimate problems speaking, which always made me question his career in broadcasting. So he fouls up the afternoon for me.

I actually like Mike Evans and DMac, but they both serve the same purpose, so you can't have them both on the same show. I think DMac tends to be a bit pompous at times - especially when it comes to CU football - but I find myself agreeing with him more than anyone else.

You get a mixed bag with Clough. Sometimes he makes excellent, well-measured points and gives a caller the business at precisely the right moment, which can make for some great radio... Then other times he seems like a senile, stubborn old man. Say this for Clough: Of their current roster, Mike Evans is the only other guy who could successfully fly solo in that evening time slot.

I've been out of Denver for the last 9 months, so I haven't listened to 87.7, but am looking forward to Vic and Gary in the morning when I move back here in a couple of weeks... Before I left, I had started listening to the KS107.5 morning show more than 104.3 because I dislike Mike & Mike so much.

It's 87.7 for me and that's it. I haven't listened to Sandy (vag) Clough in years. I couldn't even tell you what station he's on.

Im an 87.7 guy too, but after 3:00 its music for me. Gary and Vic are good, Nate Kreckman does a good job, and CJ and Klatt are the great, but I cannot stand the drive time show. JoJo sucks, G Man is the worst and just kills that show. I can stand Les, but he gets buried with those other two. Man I hate G Man.

I like Vic and Gary in the mornings on 87.7 and CJ and Klatt mid day....not sure about the afternoon drive time on 87.7 cuz G man is kind of annoying...so I listen to 104.3 w/ Dmac, Big Al and Stink. I really like Stink.

Clough is a smart guy but his problem has always been that he treats sports talk radio as if it's like a few you're sitting around the fireplace smoking a pipe and having some ultra-sophisticated philosophical discussion with an English professor. It doesn't work that way, it's about regular guys calling in wanting to talk or bitch about their team.

Stink is the best on the local airwaves, and I like Big Al but dislike DMac.

Clough is a Denver sports-radio staple, very old school, he's been doing his thing for a very long time and IS the most knowledgable guy on the airwaves, if you can get past his occasional ripping of a caller. But seriously, what do Clough-haters perfer, someone who just rubber stamps every caller's statement? For every guy he rips, he lauds someone else. Irv and Joe do the same schtick but are even more negative, and less knowledgable.

I am all 87.7, except in the afternoon. I can't stand G-Man, so I go to Alfred and Schlereth.

I absolutely detest Mike Evans and Sandy Clough and refuse to listen to anything those jokers produce.

Personally I just prefer someone who doesn't ask 25 minute questions, and then interupt as soon as the other person starts to talk.

G-man is singlehandedly killing 87.7 the ticket. I can't even listen to his half-hourly sports updates without wanting to drive my car directly into the car next to me.

I actually like 104.3 in the drive slot so long as all three of them are there. When it's only two of them it always goes wrong.

I listen to the drive for a few minutes after I get off the bus and drive to my house. Stick is by far the best, with D Mac playing the ignorant sports fan and Big Al auditioning for the players union head.

Clough is intolerable. KingPants hit the nail on the head about the 25 minute question and then interrupting as soon as someone else starts talking, it must be in his contract that he gets paid by the word. Add to it his sanctimonious know it all attitude and you have the biggest douche on air.

Kreckman is OK, JK and CJ are pretty good. Stink and Al are good too, but DMac is pretty much an idot. I can't handle the big show. Les Shapiro is tolerable, but the other two guys are morons. Vic and Gary in the morining on 87.7 can be OK, but usually I pass on them.

Irv and Joe are funny just because they have become a caricature of themselves...I have no idea if they are still on, but I would stop and listen to them if I found them on the radio for a little bit just for the chuckles. Nothing beats a five minute story about Randy Harris, the second baseman from East H.S. back in 1971, who could really play. Now he manages the MAACO shop on Youngsfield Dr. and is just doing a heck of a job.

Couldn't have described my impression of them better.

Agree and Irv is almost unintelligible, he seems to mutter more and more punctuated by TIME OUT!!! before a break.

I like cj and klatt. other wise its xm radio if you want to listen to irv and joe they are on 93.7 from 1-3 and they are only good when it comes to betting on football for the most part.
