USC game on a weeknight?

That would be a good thing. USC has not been good in weeknight games.
 
We're talking about 1 weeknight out of the whole semester, they can and should adjust for 1 day. The football program is one of the most visible aspects of the university and everyone needs to understand that whether or not they're a football fan.
 
I would like to see how they find these people, do they stand up in the UMC and yell "Hey who would be upset about ___________"
 
Even though Thursday night games are much better than Friday games for exposure & ratings, Friday may work out better. Not so much because of concern over some students having trouble finding a parking spot for classes, but because hosting USC is a major recruiting weekend for us. Especially with only 5 home games this year. It would be better if the recruits could come in Friday and actually see the game.
 
Our faculty and students can be quite the fickle self centered bunch. I tend to agree with them this time because I'm worried the Trojans are going to clean our clocks

I had to take my Engineering Fundamentals exam on a Saturday morn in the Psych building during......the Nebraska game, I passed and still caught the fourth quarter.

F*** em the football team is part of the University too. But didn't we learn something from the Toledo game??? Playing games on a short week didn't work out so well for us last time

And that is hilarious. I know her. Wonder how the **** they found her? 1Ls are supposed to buried in the basement of the library somewhere.
 
the comments on that article are pretty anti-weeknight game. Apparently, people need to access their lab time. Man, there are a bunch of whiners on CU campus. :lol:
 
I'm actually kind of on the fence on this one. People pay a king's ransom to go to Post graduate school and trying to get around on Campus on a weeknight is already an adventure as a student when you are trying to park under normal circumstance. With a football game it would be a downright nightmare. College football should be played on Saturdays and schoolwork done on weekdays. Try to remember this is a campus first. Personally I wouldn't really care much, but I can see how somebody would find this to be annoying.

They closed down the campus early for the WVU game last year. I think the employees were let go at 3. I took the afternoon off anyways so I'm not sure of the exact time. I see no problem with it once every couple of years.
 
I can see buffedup's point but it is one night... and only happens once every couple of years. They can sack up and walk an additional 5 mins
 
Bohn, you've bumbled up the schedule enough in the past. No short weeks. Just step aside and let Embree handle things.
 
From the comments on the DC article

It would be nice if CU would make more effort to mitigate traffic problems for these evening events. Just try getting out of Kittredge when there is going to be an evening game. It can literally take an hour, and nary a cop to be seen. Then you hit Regent and spend another half hour to reach Colorado, where there might actually be a traffic cop ( that's not really needed by then). Folsom Field is the only stadium I can think of that basically has no parking around it, which causes all the attendees to noodle around the campus and adjacent neighborhoods just to find a parking space. It's the cause of the concerns people are citing.

Good - maybe she'll flunk out and there'll be one less laywer in the world...:smile2:

I kid, I kid, but these people really need to start pulling their head out of their ass and realize that the football program can be a real money generator for the school - especially as the state keeps cutting back funding to the school.

Exactly! You're not supposed to be driving your gas guzzling pollution machine anyway!! Pretty sure tailgating has virtually no impact on bike racks..... :lol:
 
1 time every year or two. That's what we're talking about here. And it's tons of free advertising for CU plus several hundred grand (maybe a million or more) in a year when we're not getting a true conference revenue split and have a budget shortfall. God forbid a law student has to ride the bus one time to make this happen.

Yeah when somebody is paying tens of thousands of dollars a semester for an education, they don't have a right to an opinion as it relates to their education experience at CU. I agree that too many people have a sense of entitlement, but a Law school student is a big time paying customer and deserves to have their voice heard.
 
My biggest concern is that a Friday game might conflict with my chain duties at BHS. I'd prefer a Thursday game. I'd take the day off - and Friday too.
