EB was the speaker:
Which leads me to something interesting...he kept talking about the staff like it was both Embree's AND his. He talked about it in a way that made me think he wanted to keep coaching with Embree. I know a lot of you are worried that EB will get snatched away if we even sniff a little bit of Offensive Success, but he was talking in a way that made me think he's as committed to being at CU as Embree is. Hmmm, one can only hope!

One thing that made me very happy was the talk about how they plan to attack down the field on Offense. He emphasized protecting the QB so that they could make big plays downfield. Of course, he talked about running the ball and the emphasis on being physical. He wanted us to know that we are going to see our team fighting out there for every inch on the field.

Pound it and Launch it?

Also, VERY IMPORTANT! He asked us to be patient. He said that they are going to be doing things the right way, teaching these kids from the ground up, working on discipline and consistency, but that he needed all of us to be patient. And considering the schedule (which I brought up later and he was excited about), I think patience is an excellent thing to be preaching. We've said it on TRR before, but as long as the team is competing in every game, I'm going to be happy.

Ruh roh...

Interesting that they're talking about Tyler like he's going to be the starter. I'm glad to hear this, not necessarily because I think Tyler is a no brainer, but because it doesn't appear the staff is going to need 30 practices to make the call.

come on, we all knew what that was about

I understand your Ruh roh . . . but.

Huge difference between saying something and making a true commitment to doing it. The last ones saying this said a lot of stuff but never followed through. This group of coaches has started doing first and then talking about it. Considering how fundamentally weak the program has been the last few years they pretty much have no choice but to start from square one.

I don't know. Sounds like EB was the first choice. Getting Embree as HC was the only way to getting EB (also with huge salary increase) on the same ticket. I wouldn't be surprised if EB becomes the HC over the next 3-5 years. Unless CU is not successful. One thing I am sure of these guys will improve recruiting. I just hope that can improve on player development, O and D schemes and game time management.

I can't say that I ever heard those kind of positive comments when *awkins 1st took over as HC.

If Embree turns us into a winner why in the world would he hand the job over to Bieniemy. It's JE's dream job
