. . . with Coach Cabral and family!

No joke. He's in Hawaii and we're going to be grilling some steaks. I am going to pick his brain as much as I can, but thought I let you guys in on things: "What would you ask him?"

Aloha!

ask him when he and embree are going to bug MB about taking the band to Hawaii!!! It is a brick game after all.

Awesome opportunity.

I'd basically be a suck up.

Ask him about growing up in the islands. Get him to talk about his about his Superbowl experience with the 85 Bears. Pick his brain about what it meant to coach under McCartney and win the National Championship against Notre Dame. Ask him when wears the CU ring and the SB ring. Ask if he sees BnG being restored to his liking around Dal Ward, and what it's like working for Embree. Ask him why the Hawaiian kids sometimes get into trouble in Boulder, like Sipili and Katoa and if he'd do anything differently with those guys. Ask him if he's heard from Jordan Dizon recently?

Mostly, let him know how much the Buff nation appreciates him taking over the helm for the last three games last season and how greatful we are for him coming back for the 2011 season.

What's he wearing under that skirt?

Edit: Who's his favorite recruit for 2012?

Don't know if he'll touch question No. 1, but if Cabral discusses question No. 2, he'd be violating NCAA recruiting rules.

How's about:
1) Which red-shirt freshman linebacker will be a household name by the end of the season?
2) How are duties being delegated between you and the two defensive line coaches - i.e., who's coaching the DE/LB/nickel back hybrids?
3) Will the Buffs have to live (and die) with the blitz in order to protect/hide the new cornerbacks?
4) How can Hawai'i's passing offense be stopped on 9/3 with two new cornerbacks going up against the No. 1 passing offense in the nation? :bang:

Who is he thinking at OLB? Major moving to the outside, Nobriga, one of the incoming freshmen?

Really dumb move by Willingham. He had a chance to start as a true frosh.

Make sure you say hi to his wife. She is an awesome lady. When we were down in Austin the last time, my buddy and I had brought our 11 year olds down for the game. We went to the CU sponsored event held at one of the bars and the night before the game. The mangement would not let our kids in and we were about ready to leave and go some to a different venue. Coach Cabral's wife came up to us and said leave the kids with me and you two go in and check out the festivities. She said that CU wanted a family atmoshpere and this was supposed to be a family event and apologized as the management did not let them know that kids would not be able to come in. My buddy and I went in and had one beer and then went back to get our kids and move on. She had decked the kids out in all kinds of Buff gear ( in addition to what they already had on) and she had bought them hot dogs from one of the street vendors. We tried to pay her back and she would have none of it. I cannot speak highly enough about how much that family has given to CU and how much they bleed black and gold. Brian and Becky (I believe that is her name - I called her Mrs. Cabral) are as good as it gets for CU.

That's what I meant. Thanks MB.

Great stuff guys! Just based on knowing his sister and hearing her stories I can tell his family is great and they'll be a lot of fun to hang out with. Great story, Brad. It sounds like they really 'live aloha.' I'm not going there as a journalist, but if I get any opportunities to discuss the linebacker situation and the general defensive approach next season (blitz like crazy) I will definitely take them. I'd also like to ask about how recruiting in Hawaii and perhaps other pacific islands may be shaping up in the future. I want to know how he feels about playing Nebraska in the future and whether he thinks Utah is a worthy rival. I'd eb curious if he likes playing CSU each year or if it is just a necessary part of the schedule.

I will absolutely send praises and appreciation from everyone for the wonderful job he did in his last three games last season. I can't wait to hear his enthusiasm talking about the SB, the NC, the 2001 Nebraska game, and just try to get an honest feel about how he sees the future of the program. (Can we not only return to glory, but also maintain it?)

I'm not sure about recruiting rules, but I am going to offer any help I can as an alumni in the islands putting together events and potentially organizing some kind of a party for the UH game. Let me know if you are out here and want to contribute......

i for one can't wait to hear the report from this event...

great work tw! great to have you on the board.
