Likely reason Ryan Miller stayed in school

o_robbie

I don't think before I post
Besides CU rating out as the number 1 party school in America I am guessing Ryan Miller stayed in school to boost his draft stock. Walt has him as a fringe prospect currently. I am guessing he ends up in the 3rd or 4th round after another productive season this year.

Ryan needs to stop playing to the level of his competition if he really wants to boost his stock.

 One game he holds Suh in check, next game he looks like one of the guys. He brings the level of dominance that he has already flashed in a consistent manner this year, and speedy is gonna be waltzing into the endzone over the bodies of defeated pac 12 enemies. Also, Sports science will do a segment examining the force he uses in subduing a charging grizzly bear.

There are two reasons he stayed: His co-stars in the Muscle Milk commercial.

I think Embree will bring the best out of him and turn him into a consistent performer.

The reason he stayed in School because he no one projected him as being a candidate to be drafted in the 2011 draft. There was never a hint or whisper of him leaving early. He could be a number one draft choice if he gets more intense. Steve Marshall should be a big help to him. Denver Johnson was a nice guy but I don't think he really did that much for the Oline. One of the knocks on Solder was the need for improved technique.

By the way that site has not been updated in a year.

Marshall needs to get him to have a bit of a mean streak. I am very happy Marshall is back as OL coach. That guy had some dominant lines when he was here last time.

Put exactly zero stock in the Nebraska game of 2009. NU had clinched the league and were playing to avoid injury.

I think it will help Miller a lot having more veteran guys playing on either side of him. That, along with competent OL and S&C coaching. He's going to have a big year.

The link hadn't been updated in a while but the site is updated all the time. Walt isn't always accurate on his projections but what I was getting at is that Miller was considering leaving early and probably heard alot of 4th to 7th round projections and decided another year at CU would help boost his draft stock.

As far as moving him to Tackle. I just don't think that is in the cards for him at this point. I think he would be serviceable out there but I prefer his experience at Guard. Does anyone know how he will do in the shuttle drills. I am curious how mobile he is after all of those leg problems. I think that will have alot more to do with his draft stock than people think.

I also think he is going to be pretty dominant this year. Should be a first or second team all pac 12 guy.
