Kasa and Major

Are these guys ready for a breakout year or what?? These are CO products and we need them to shine! Having these local kids play a huge role on a successful defensive team also helps shore up the borders when it comes to recruiting.

It is their time to STAY HEALTHY and be the anchors on that defense!@!!

Any updates on these guys coming out of Spring? Are they both healthy?

I was terrified to open this thread - thought it was going to be injuries, suspensions, arrests, or transfers.

Glad it's not. I hope they have great seasons.

IMO, skies the limit for Major. Outstanding player. Kasa's another story. I just don't see him developing into a great DL or DE. Just too tall and doesn't play with the req'd leverage. There's a reason Florida changed their mind about his position and decided he'd be better off at TE.

You may be correct, between his injuries and not quite fitting what people are trying to do he may end up a disappointment. He does have a ton of raw talent though so he may be one to really come on and surprise.

This may be a situation where having Kanavis around may help since He was a tall, upright player when he got to Boulder as well.

If Major can avoid injuries (he's had an injury problem since his days in high school at Ponderosa), he will be in beast mode like he was last year before his injury. Kasa on the other hand, seems to be just wasted potential.

CU needs Kasa to be a force more than Major. I hope Tui and Knavis can work on him and get him to a point where he can contribute this fall.

Major is going to be the leader of the defense this year. Special talent.

Kasa is hard to read. There has been nothing to suggest he's going to be more than a solid player. Can he be a playmaker? I don't know. But there's a chance now that he's getting good DL coaching and he's got a S&C coach who won't make him bulky and slow. Deehan, for example, transformed himself and looks athletic as hell now. Maybe the same thing can happen with Kasa.

I think you guys are going to regret writing off Kasa just because Florida wanted him as a TE/OT. He has had numerous issues his first two years at CU and can still live up to the recruiting ranking imo. Hawk and his crew of idiots put a 6'7 260 pound guy at DT, I don't think anyone on this board would be that dumb.

Major looks great, but he needs to not get injured.

I think that is the whole key with him is coaching. He really didnt need it in hs. How many 6'7" d ends do you see in Colorado? I think he's gonna have a good year. He has the ability just putting it all together is the trick but I think he can.

Kasa certainly has the frame to become a dominant force. I hope he has the heart to push himself to the next level. Throw in being coached up this off-season and he should live up to his billing.

Kasa: I trust Knavis ad Tui to light a fire and point him in the right direction, but will Kasa respond? I think at least half of the problem is mental (post-injury, tentative b/c of Hawk, what position do/should I play?, did I make a mistake coming to CU?, etc).

Major: Just needs to stay injury-free and will be one of our many great LBs.
