Missouri and Pac-12?

So I'm reading Athlons Key Pac-12 games for this year and it brings up Missouri @ Arizona State. Heres what it had to say.

Sept. 9 Missouri @ Arizona State. Missouri had a chance to leave the Big 12 and make this a conference game, it looks like an early bowl game now.

I thought Missouri wasn't even in the conversation for the Pac-16 am I wrong? In fact I think Mizzou showed interest in leaving the Big 12 for the Big 10 with Nebraska, but the Big 10 didn't want them.

Missouri was waiting for their Big-10 invite that never materialized

I believe you are correct although people always like to spin things. Missouri was actually the first ones to make noise about leaving the Big 12 - and that was all about the Big 10.

Lazy writing. Mizzou was never a Pac 10 consideration.

nice editing, too. really boosts your cred as a national source when you flub the minor stuff.

much like we've pined for the Pac, MU has always considered itself more of a "Big Ten" type institution...that they ended up on the outside looking in (they were the one's to call out the balance of power moving into TX early on).....is interesting. Nu fan like to say they got over on Texas, but really they got over on Mizzou.

This is where LSU freek should have done something with the clip of Drew barrymore in 'Never Been Kissed' where she is waiting by the door and they guy goes by in the limo and smokes her with a tomato. She could be wearing a Mizzou dress and the limo could have 'B10 Invite Ball' written on the side of it.....

Sometimes these mags use local writers to help with the team info. I'm pretty sure Ringo contributes a lot of the CU stuff for Steele. Could be that Athlon got spin from a Mizzou writer that they were trying to decide between Big 10 and Pac-10 offers before deciding to remain in the Big 12 (-2).

That's how it went down, you know. Mizzou wanted to be in the strongest basketball conference possible and was happy to ditch CU and the Nubs. :wink2:

I thought Steele did his own research on all teams and thats what seperates him from the rest of the teams?

He does all the writing instead of contracting it out. But he relies on local beat writers for much of the info.
