Was home alone bored yesterday and went through each schools schedule and made a conference prediction. It's just for fun, picks will probably be way off.

Pac 12 championship game
Stanford over Utah in Palo Alto

Never been all that interested in making predictions (probably for an obvious reason: I'm not all that good at it) but I will support Sarah Palin for president if CU starts 5-0 and finishes 6-7.

I know it's a stretch with that 5-0 start prediction. Hawaii and Ohio state will be the toughest out of the first five. Again, this is just for fun, I'm not taking these picks to Vegas or anything. I just sat down and jotted down each game for each school and came up with those records.

Unleash,

Those seem like solid picks...hats off to you. This upcoming season is a great mystery to many because not many people will know how most Pac-12 teams will fare in a new conference.

Oregon State along with Arizona are schools that might take a fall and WSU & CU are schools that might surprise. We will have to see about that.

I get you. If... if... 5-0 were to happen, though, it would be very interesting to see how far this team could go. JMHO, but at that point 1-7 down the stretch would be every bit as unlikely.

If we beat Hawaii and OSU on the road then I dont see how we dont beat either UCLA, or washington, if not both.

When we were 7-2 in 2005 I didn't think we would lose on the road to Iowa state and then lose the next two games by a combined score of 100-6.

Just sayin weird things happen

You don't know that, we can get buy Hawaii (thats our toughest in that stretch) and it is likely.

:wow: I know you think Cal on the road is a cakewalk, but tougher than OSU? I suppose at least you're putting yourself out there.

I'd like to think we can do better than 0-4 vs UCLA, Utah, UW, ASU. Not that we will, but man we have to get over the road woes. ASU could be in shambles or going for a South title by that point of the season, hard to tell which. UW looks vulnerable this year to me. UCLA should be a mess by then, Rick probably gone or on his way out. Utah should be quite beaten up by that time from playing a real schedule for the first time.

Controversy or not, at OSU is still tougher than at Hawaii imo.

I don't know, Hawaii plays good at home. Meanwhile, OSU will have very few starters from last year playing and they don't have Tressell, plus the distractions. Don't get me wrong OSU will still be tough, but that program has a lot to overcome and a pumped up Buff team could pose problems for them. Remember we are capable of hanging with good teams on the road (see National champion runner up Texas two years ago). And I don't really think OSU will take us seriously (until after the game of course ;).)

5-0 seems like a pipe dream to me, but obviously would love to see it happen.

Cal is going to be a very interesting game to me. Their defense is young, but there is some really good talent all over the place. Can our offense step up or not?

I think OSU is a top 10 team at home even with the loss of players. Their deep. We also took a major hit with Iltis.

It does seem like a pipedream, I just think it's not unrealistic. I think the second half of our schedule is the real brutal part. In all honesty it would be more likely to start 3-2 or 2-3. However I do see a great opportunity for the buffs to start 4-1 or 5-0.

HELL NO! They are not even a top 25 team IMO. They have some major things against them, they will struggle. We might not beat them, but they will get killed in the big 10/11/12 IMO. Huskers are gonna tear em a new one in Lincoln!

You're right, I don't know anything and would love to be proven wrong. But my guess is oddsmakers will have us finishing at 2-3 in that stretch. I'm really on the edge of my seat re: Embree coaching the lights out of our current talent.

He sure has a lot of unproven question marks, I'm just a very enthusiastic buff fan. I know, I'll be the one with crushed hopes, I'm used to it by now.

If Sarah Palin and Obama are our only choices for President, I'm not voting. 5 wins sounds about right.
