Indoor plumbing?

Seriously, landscaping is a facility upgrade? I had no idea my recent trip to Home Depot for some annuals to plant around the house could constitute a "facility upgrade".

Gawd. I honestly do feel sorry for them. They want so badly to be relevant, and they always come up so short of that goal.

Oh! Here's another!

Man this is the first time I've seen that high school stadium, and I hope it's the only time.

I've never been to Ft. Collins so I had to pull Hughes up on Google Earth. Holy crap! That is a horrible location! It's in the middle of nowhere and it's so far from campus! The straight line distance from the center of campus is about 3 miles. Now I see why their students don't go the games. Who would want to walk that far to sit in a dump with no atmosphere only to face another long, depressing walk after getting pounded? And if you're an alumus, it looks like a depressing place to tailgate and there certainly aren't any nice watering holes nearby. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

I've been to three games at Hughes. It sucks. There's no other way to say it. They made a massive mistake by not building on campus, and compounded the mistake by building a crappy stadium.

still, it's better than Invesco.

Greg's statement is still correct.

:yeahthat: The stadium is about a mile from the foothills. The campus is about 4 miles from the foothills. That makes it 3 miles farther out on the plains.

OK, making fun of CSU is fun and all, but that stadium is not a mile from the foothills. It's right next to them. That pic was probably taken from the hillside.

That site is horrible for a stadium. It's in the middle of a residential neighborhood. There are two roads in and out of the stadium, and both are just two lane roads. As was noted, there are no bars or restaurants anywhere close to the stadium. Whoever the rocket scientist was who came up with the plan to build that stadium on that spot was a certified moron. It's not like there wasn't plenty of land closer to the campus that they could have used. DUMB. And the truly sad part is that they'll never be able to correct the mistake. They're stuck with it. Forever.

On the other hand, they won't notice it much when they dismantle their football program. It won't be like there's a giant stadium in the middle of campus to remind them of what they USED to have.

Like I said, I've never been so I was going off of how it looked in Google Earth. I see now that the first hill is obscured by cloud cover. The stadium is quite close to the foothills.

The Hughes location would be like Chitaqua, but with the land deforested and stripped of vegetation...and the Flatirons bulldozed...and a lake were created in their place.

**** it. It's useless to make that comparison. There is no comparison.
