I'm not sure where I should post this ... but another message board (http://www.cohoopstracker.com) is reporting that Coach Lappe just received a commitment from Lauren Huggins 6'1" SG from Heritage HS. Always awesome to keep Colorado talent home!

ESPN

Nice if true. She's in the HoopGurlz Top 100, so here's hoping she did commit. She's made unofficials to Cal, ASU, CSU, Denver and Wyoming. Nice write up on her on the site too.

She needs to get stronger to take the punishment the college game has in store but her shooting ability, height, length and basketball smarts should have her among the most sought after players in Colorado.

This is a great get. Colorado hs girls have a few top 100 in the 2012 class. Good to see the coaches get one. Maybe they can get one or 2 more.

ESPN

Nice if true. .....
I was searching for any other confirmation and found that, on Lauren Huggins Facebook page, she has recently added as friends 6 of the current 11 players on the CU WBB roster. Probably a pretty good indication that it's true.

Remind me to never borrow money from you, Bebe.

ESPN HoopGurlz released their final 2012 rankings for WBB today. Lauren is now rated as 4*, #63 in the class and their highest ranked CO high school player.

According to the ESPN site, CU is also still in the running for #38 Jamee Swan. I have heard that the other two CO girls in the top 100 (Alexus Johnson, Monarch and Katie Heckman, Regis) both want to go out of state but nothing official.

Sadly, I can confirm that Heckman will probably be going out of state.

Well damn, so much for my scoop. I didn't realize the five had been announced publicly. Thanks Bebe!

Back to Lauren, she is currently the #63 player in the nation according to ESPN's HoopGurlz and is the #10 wing.

Lauren is a great player that will really blossom surrounded by college athletes. Has continually worked since 4th grade to get better and I can see only great things for her. She has a great family that we go back years with so we are extremely happy to see her in Boulder. Matched up with Lexy Kresl who is a killer mentally and Jasmine S. CU will be hard to deal with on the perimeter.

The #1 recruit in the state of Colorado is now officially a Buff!

Got to hand it to coach Lappe this class looks liek the begining of a new era for women's basketball at CU. I love the concept of a wing this tall who can bomb 3's, that will be a match up nightmare for oposing teams.
