"Darragh O'Neill Relishing chance to compete again"

Also I wanted to add: While Darragh has been working his ass off with the team all summer Grossnickle has been in Spain and Brundage has been doing an FBI internship. I hope the coaches are taking note of this not to mention he has been booming the ball lately.

Well we need help on ST across the board so may the best man win. Side note, I just saw Grossnickle's punt against Nebraska. Good Lord, that thing didnt get 3 feet off the ground, U-G-L-Y. I didnt remember it because I missed it, was at the Stephenville Randall game in Mitland. It's on Altitude right now, I dont really know why Im subjecting myself to this torture tho lol. Guess it could be worse, like the Kansas game.

Also he sets us up for some sick fake punts haha. They ran 100's at conditioning the other day and D ran the second fastest out of everyone there that day to P-Rich. I told him he should be the first Buff to kick and return punts lol.

I love the competition.

It will all come down to performance, but I can tell you that if I was on the team that Darraigh would be the guy I'd feel most comfortable going into the gameday fight with right about now. Brundage and Grossnickle better show up in shape and prepared.

That sounds like a sweet internship! Glad to see my tax dollars at work.

UPDATE: Darragh was informed by Coach Brookhart today that he has been invited to fall camp!

Well, that calls for us All-buffers to head down to Connor O'Neill's and drink some suds in honor of this fine occasion.

A fine bar, and yes, this kid is very athletic. The kind that if he would have focused on punting at a younger age (rather than soccer and hoops) might have been a D1 scholarship kid from the get go.

I got some info and need to add a correction to this thread.

Grossnickle was in Italy for May-mester, but has been back in Boulder and working out with the team since mid-June. He has been a full participant in player-led practices and has been working hard with coach Blacken to develop position-specific strength and flexibility. He's in ridiculously good shape right now and has developed a very good relationship with Blacken.

Sounds like we are going to see him reach his potential this year and that he should have the confidence of his teammates from putting in the work with them. If Brundage or O'Neill are going to win this job, they're going to have to take it from him. He's putting himself in position to be great and he is not leaving the door open... someone's going to have to knock it down.

I loved hearing this. Can't wait for practices to start.

Hearing differently from my sources. Darragh has been out-kicking Zach on an almost every punt. So I guess thats means for "taking the job from him."

Yeah, UBL, reveal your sources!

I just realized this thread is about a punter. I have now commented on the last two kicker-related threads. Man, I must be turning into some kind of metrosexual. Next thing you know, I'll be bitching about some Cockney hooligan ruining a Premier League Game. Wow.

For the record, I was commenting on the coolness of an FBI internship in Italy.

I don't care who punts as long as they are good at it. It would be sweet if GN could RS or move back to what he's good at, place kicking.

First a few comments about kickers, next thing you know you're walking around Mardi Gras in assless chaps.
