Pac 12 media poll

Now I always put out my "i'm not pollyana" disclaimer before I say things......... but I look at it this way:

1) The pressure isn't on CU to produce but rebuild. The other schools have to fight to keep their rankings or do better. CU just has to move forward. (seeing this fallout from Texas right now is having me pull out my junior mints and root beer for the show)

2) All film on past performances is based upon schools that are not in this conference, which gives CU the upper hand for the 2011 year.

3) New coaching staff and significant changes could shake things up for 2011 season for schools that again won't have those changes on film. I'm not clueless to the bumps and bruises that come with change but it may give CU some advantages.........can't wait for the season to start!

I love it!! I hope the whole Pac buys in on this BS. Picked last and finish 3rd or 4th makes CU look like an even better destination for good recruits.

And that is how it works! Back door PR. The tough part gets when you achieve that 3rd place and have to maintain. But by then the strong underrated recruits you've pulled in will bring in home and make it all right with the universe (shameless plug)! Its good to be a Buff in this decade!

But it still

Sucks

to be

a CSU Ram.

(you'll understand when you're at the game.)

good. we have them right where we want them. embro and eb are going to have the team ready. we may not have all the bodies we need, but they will be prepared and tough, i expect. i hope they do skippy's bruins in an especially painful way.

I would love the Buffs to prove the polls wrong but I am not going into this season with high expectations. Too many holes and question marks. I cannot blame the media for putting CU where they did. As Liver says, I'd like to see the team prepared and tough but that's about the extent of my expectations this year.

Less votes than Washington State shows a total ignorance of the Buffs. Washington State has gone 5-32 under Wulff. However low and humiliating of a place Hawkins took our program, we did not come close to being 5-32 bad. Wazzu is at the point where keeping a game under 5 TD's is a moral victory for them. If you want some entertainment, go read their board. There's some rationality here at there, but also a lot of hilarious delusional comments. When you go 5-32 in your first three seasons, there is no "turnaround", your best hope is to somehow miraculously go 3-9.

Request for information from Stuart:

When did the Buffs last finish last in anything football related? Like 1938, maybe?

1898 and 1915.

:iagree: True. The last time Colorado finished alone in the conference basement was the 1915 season, when the Buffs were 0-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play (1-6 overall). Of the teams in the Big Six, Seven, Eight and 12, only Oklahoma can make a similar claim (Nebraska finished alone in the Big Seven basement in 1957, in case you need to use that information against any lingering Cornhusker fans).

And a little something for you. Thanks.

Nothing would be sweeter this year than to see us knock off UCLA, and send that rat Skippy packing.
