Any rumors about what schools we might be playing in our non-conference open slots in:

2012
2013
2014
2015 (2)?

There was an article in the Camera a week or so ago saying that next year will be Fresno, CSU and a team we can get cheap on a one game contract (think lower level FBS or possibly even FCS).

Interesting that we've scheduled the home-n-home with Hawaii again. I guess that's a kewl selling point for some of the potential recruits, but the travel and the 13th game (possibly consecutive scheduling like this year) are a bit iffy.

I love the 13th game - and it makes it a lot easier to get to a bowl (hopefully we dont' need the extra one though however...)

Maybe things have changed, but last I heard:

2012: @ Fresno State
2013: Fresno State
2014: Hawaii
2015: @ Hawaii

They are already on there....

there is 1 slot open for the next 3 years and 2 slots in 2015.

While getting a burrito I heard Bohn is looking at a 2 for 1 against Umass with 1 game being played in Foxboro.

Playing at Hawaii is a great deal, as it gives you the extra game that you can theoretically schedule as a home game. We didn't do that this year, instead scheduling a road game at Ohio State. I wouldn't be shocked at all if 2015 rolls around and we're not looking at a true 7-home game schedule.

Did you hear this before you got the burrito? Or while you were in the bathroom ****ting out the burrito?

UMass - the div. 2 team? Why on earth would CU agree to a road game with a div. 2 team?

I trust your post was made in jest.

If true, would be a great trip. This is also what we need to be doing. There is no reason we shouldn't be doing a 2 for 1 with Fresno.

You didn't use the sarcasm font, so now you have my hopes up.

the "while getting a burrito" is a FACTual statement and means something when it is placed in a sentence prior to the information being disseminated.

while getting a burrito, I was wondering where the other 2 games would be played against UMASS....

They're moving to the MAC and Div. 1 next year.

We need to be playing mid-level programs in Texas for rectuiting purposes (and so I can easily fo to road games). I thinking games against SMU, Baylor, Houston. The game would be good enough to get televised and could really help us land Texas recuits if we could show them that we would be playing at least one game in state of Texas during their time at CU. Oregon St scheduling TCU was a big part of their recuitment of the Rogers brothers.

SMU, TCU, Houston, Rice, UNT - but ixnay on Baylor. Those other schools are all either in Dallas or Houston. Baylor is little more than a bump in I-35.

Fair enough, and a boring bump at that. Tough to come up with a less fun road trip location than Waco. Provo maybe?

Agreed. Would rather not see bailer, or any other bigliltex conference teams on the ooc for a while. Clean separation.

A 2 for 1 with NoTex is a winner, imo. Great exposure in the Dal Metroplex. Houston would be a close second.

If that happened NoTex would play @LSU, CU, @Kstate in the first 3 weeks in 2012. Ouch.

A game in Foxboro would be great. Not much recruiting up there, but it's a great venue and Boston (as much as I hate their pro sports fans) is a one of a kind city. I think CU would have a decent showing, we've got a good amount of alums in the NE. Would be sweet to take in a Pats game the day after and see Nate the Great..

For Texas, I agree I'd aim for a 2-1 with N.Texas (Denton) or maybe Rice. Houston and SMU are pretty dangerous at this point, especially to face on the road. Texas State and UTSA are joining the WAC next year as well. UTSA (Larry Coker hired as HC) is playing in the Alamo Dome and they have the likes of Arizona, Virginia and Colorado State already agreeing to visit them in coming years.

I think a 2-for-1 with UMass would be great. Games we should win, avoids playing a 1AA opponent, balances out our home schedule, and gets us in front of our New England alums/fans. That would be one of the more intelligent scheduling moves that Bohn has ever made.

The most intelligent move he could make is to schedule a 2-1 with Temple. The kids would get to play in an NFL stadium and not be annoyed by all of those crackpots in Massachusetts.....

My vote would be for UTSA. Would prefer to keep September games indoors in that region.

I like the UMASS idea. Fun road trip, the game would be televised in multiple time zones and great exposure for CU nationwide.

UNT is a beatable program in a great recruiting region and have a nice, new on-campus stadium to boot. I've driven by it a bunch and looks like a good place to see a game. Easy drive to Denton, too, from the airport.

Yeah, but the people down there just seem so--I don't know--fake...
