Jered Bell out for the season with a torn ACL per The Ralphie Report. :-(

Very sad. My heart goes out to the kid. Hang in there Jared. On a football note, it will at least give the other corners all of fall camp to get needed reps.

It's weird that it happened in a non-contact drill.

When I go for my run each day, I never think about the possibility of getting hurt. It's just running.

Not sure if I won't be thinking about it tomorrow.

Edit: Karma sent Jared. I hope for a speedy recovery.

Most ACL tears are not the result of contact. People always think that, but it is not the case.

Cutting is where most injuries occur and you cut a ton in football. Running straight in a line doesn't cause ACL tears so you don't have to worry about that.

I had Jered Bell penciled in as a starter this year at CB. Oh well, at least we have lots of experienced depth at that position.

duct tape?

honestly, i do hope the best for him. that is just awful. come back next year stronger and better!!!

You're right, I didn't know that. Good information.

Come on Perkins played a whole game with a torn ACL... step it up Jered..... ...

This sucks...I was really rooting for Bell and Deji to win the starting jobs. I feel they have a lot of promise, and being young, could develop into really great corners by the time they graduate...Hope Bell heals quickly and gets over the mental block of cutting once he's allowed to practice.

Some of the worst injuries are the ones that occur with no contact. Best of luck to him, hopefully he recovers fully in time for next season, ACL tears can be tricky like that.

On a football note, I think that this is a major blow to our already paper thin secondary.

I remember Fred Barnett blew out both his knees at the same time and wasnt touched. Only difference was that was at the Vet, one of the worst tracks of all time. Bell will be back, I just hate that it happened to him. Cool that he still has his redshirt year. Gotta have someone step up for him.

If he didn't have a RS year he could have probably gotten a medical RS. Still feel bad for the kid, because that's the kind of stuff that you have to live with for the rest of your life.

I've blown my right knee twice and my left knee once. Living with it isn't a big deal. Of course I'm not in the NFL but they have this surgery down pretty well now. Keep the knee strong and it can be fine

That was Wendell Davis...

So who just stepped into the 2 deep at corner?

Yep ur right, dont know why I thought Barnett other than I was pretty young at the time. Plus Davis was a Bear right? Anyway, what happened to Pugh? Is he a safety?
