Could The Networks Be The Real Puppetmaster In All Of This ?

go to ESPN.... they are against A&M going to the SEC for financial reasons.... it's obvious

I can understand why they'd be against the move. I don't think they were behind what happened last year, though. What happened last year ended up costing the networks hundreds of millions of dollars.

I think the networks have a great influence, but not from the standpoint that they're orchestrating anything. The conferences are making moves so that they can present the best package to the networks. So what would be most valuable to the networks is a major driver. But I don't think ESPN is calling university presidents or conference commissioners to say that they need to create superconferences or that they must have conference championship games. If they were, the Big 12 would have added 2 teams last year to maintain inventory and the title game.

The networks are far too busy building the human holding pens under DIA to worry about conference expansion/shift.

Don't count out the influence of Craig James. His tentacles, proboscis and barbarels are into everything.

They had one last year and they should have taken it. The current issues in the Big 12 were as evident then as they are now.

yeah just like Missouri had an offer to go the big 10. aggy overplayed their hand just like missou did. now all kind of people reporting that aggy has no offer even though their sources all say they did. egg on your face aggy.

I think mizzou and a&m both misplayed last year. I don't think mizzou ever had an offer, but thought they did and started running their mouth, while Nebraska quietly worked behind the scenes to get what they wanted. A&M had an offer last year but didn't have the cajones to take it. Now they are sorry and desperately looking for a way out. if they blow this move, they are going to be in deep doo doo. hell, they'll probably take a C-USA offer just to get out!
