Son of the Vikings OL coach. He is moving from Charlotte (dad coached under John Fox there last year). Family friends with Rip Scherer:

"I knew I wasn't going to be able to decide that quick," he said. "So I've narrowed it down and am going to take five official visits to Oregon, Stanford, Clemson, Ohio State and my fifth will be to Colorado."

...

The latest program to join the group is Colorado. A family connection brought the Buffaloes into the equation.

"My dad is good friends with their quarterbacks coach (Rip Scherer)," Davidson said. "They've really come out of nowhere for me. But coach Scherer has become my favorite recruiter to talk to. We talk about so many things and most of it is not even about football."

His father, Jeff, is the OL Coach for the Minnesota Vikings. Before that, he spend 3 years as the OL Coach at the Carolina Panthers where he developed a friendship with Rip Scherer.

We've got an "in" from that standpoint plus the NFL coaching circles that will speak highly of Embo and EB (especially within Vikings circles).

One to watch out for is Ohio State, where both dad and grandpa went, played OL, and were captains.

Rivals just ran a new interview where Nick had the following to say:

Very nice. Would love to get this kid and he would shut a lot of us up.

His dad played for the Broncos. Quote from his scout profile "Davidson’s father had a four-year career in the NFL that included stints with the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints". Assuming his father liked Denver/ Colorado we might also have that going for us as well.

Thanks for the info.

And welcome!

Good intel! Welcome.

Any uncommitted OT 6'6" or greater playing top-division prep ball deserves a look with our current pickings. Fact. Hope some urban legends and praiseworthy ballads about man-beast Eric Bieniemy are spreading around MSP. Scherer connection also a huge plus. Give us a visit, Nick!
