And almost identical to the wins I predicted. After getting jimmybuffed, I feel a whole lot better about my picks now that a master of college football has the same thoughts as me! I think Thorburn even said the buffs were gonna be a darkhorse for the 1996 season, so he knows his **** man! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUCK IT MOTHER ****ERS!!!!!!!!:tongue2::gun:

Well, I wouldn't say he was making a "darkhorse" prediction there, since we were generally regarded as between the #1 and #10 team prior to the season: http://preseason.stassen.com/program/1996.html

With competent coaching, we win 8 games last year. We now have competent coaching with a competent strength and conditioning with should reduce injuries.

True but the schedule this season is much more difficult, that has to be factored in.

Agreed but we return a lot of starters from that team last year so I just don't see how we'll be as bad as people say we will. It's not unreasonable to think we'll be 4-1 heading into the meat of our schedule.

Really? I don't accept that the Pac-12 is better than the Big-12. Look at the top 25.

Non-conference?

Hawaii on the road vs at home (more difficult)
Cal at home vs on the road (easier)
Ohio State on the road vs Georgia at home (more difficult)
CSU at Mile High (same)

Call Washington State at home our extra game versus last season since we have a 9-game conference schedule instead of the 8 we played last year and then compare the rest. Basically, we have an equivalent schedule to 2010.

Oh believe me, I think cu will be much better than what people are predicting. 2011 is positive for me, i'm leaving the negative behind. Well, unless the losing continues....

I agree with that

Also, we played 3 top 25 teams last year, this year there are 3 pre-season top 25 teams on our schedule.

UCLA has more talent than CU.

And where has that gotten them? They had a worse record than CU last year. There's nothing that would suggest UCLA would win the South other than a complete wild guess. I admit it's wide open, but I think even Utah has a better shot than the Bruins

They're about to "pop".

Ya, and the Miami Heat had more talent than the Dallas Mavericks, whats your point?

With your logic, UCLA sucks even worse than CU if they have more talent, yet the same record the last 3 years. You really don't use your brain in these posts much do you jimmy?

What does the last game between CU and UCLA have any bearing on this argument? Not one player on either roster played in any game between UCLA and CU.....

dont forget Allen Iverson has more talent than ANYBODY.......

Utah has the best shot out of all the south teams IMO

7 wins is doable but we have to beat all the teams who are equal to us or a little bit worse. Playing 13 weeks straight is going to be brutal. I'm not sure how much that is going to affect us. We are also a key injury away at WR or QB from being pretty shaky on offense. I'm not sure we are that dynamic to begin with and if Hansen or Richardson go down we are going to be in a world of hurt. I think Hansen is going to surprise some people. I thought he looked pretty good last year and if he eliminates a few of his mistakes he is going to be better QB than most analysts predict.
One of Hawkins best finds IMO.

I still can't get over the fact that we were 5-7 last year with 3 other wins we should have had in the bag (TT, Baylor, KU)...and we SUCKED! Now everyone is picking CU to go 2-11??? Plus every team we play this year either has players suspended, is on probation, or is about to (yeah, I get it...exaggeration).

Embree actually used the exact same analogy at the Kickoff Luncheon. Something to the effect of "We may not be as talented as everyone else, but we're going to do everything that doesn't involve talent better than everyone else. We're going to be physically and mentally tougher and be the better TEAM that one day."

What about the 5 wins we had that were just dumb luck despite our coach

What about the 2 wins we had that were just dumb luck despite our coach

fify

2 wins were by Cabral and a bucket of loose opossum stool should be able to lead us to victory over a 3-9 CSU squad.
