What upsets do you see on this first weekend?

I think USF beats ND. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Baylor knock off TCU.

My stomach after drinking beer all day watching COLLEGE FOOTBALL!:dance4::dance2::dance6::woot:

East Carolina over South Carolina
App State over Virginia Tech
Marshall over West Virginia
SMU over A&M

Speaking of upsets. I think Colorado could be a dark horse in ruining Oregon's national championship attempt. I could see them trying to pull their fast tempo bs in our altitude and shooting themselves in the foot. If itis close and they cant rotate guys out because they need their starters...

Depends how we look a few games in, but i think we could pull it off. Only game I think We have close to absolutely no chance is Stanford

ATM should run the ball at will on SMU. I'm no fan of Mike Sherman, really, but not even he can screw that up.

edit: i do like USF to give ND all they want, but i'm going to save my "upset in South Bend" pick for AFA later in the season.

Bill & Mary over UVA? :smile2:

Wouldn't shock me, it was just two short years ago that they lost to them. VT better be careful against App State as well. UVA is breaking in a new QB - "Second Year" Michael Rocco, with true frosh David Watford also getting some snaps, but the overall talent is increasing across the board. The Hoos should improve this year, with that schedule (W&M, @ Indiana, Idaho, Southern Miss OOC) they really should go at least 6-6 and make a low tier bowl game, but I'll predict 5-7.

Got money on Fresno State beatin Cal and Houston over UCLA although according to Vegas that isn't an upset.

On the radio this morning they were worried that one of the ACC teams would lose to an FCS team tomorrow and the thought was that UVA was the most likely victim, with Duke against Richmond right up there on the list too. While I think VT is a bit over-hyped, I don't think that ASU goes in there and beats them, mainly because they lost to a nearby FCS school just last year and Beamer will have them on major upset alert this time, especially since App has a reputation of knocking off not just Michigan but other local FBS teams in the past.

The same Montana State coach who beat Dan Hawkins in his coaching debut is now the head coach at Idaho State and they play at Washington State this Saturday. Montana State should have beaten WSU on their turf. Two of Coach Wulff's five wins came against FCS schools. Just a thought here...

EDIT: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2011/sep/01/idaho-state-coach-kramer-sees-cougs-his-family/

Kramer knows the WSU program and notice Wulff's comments...going to be a LONG year in Pullman.

SMU is making their case to be in the Big 12 this weekend. They get blown out and it's a no hoper. Even with a W it's still a longshot, but they have to believe it's their time and chance.

Edit: They still don't bring in the TV sets, but I could see this attitude being played out in the locker room.
