ASU safety Ezekiel Bishop out for season

ESPN had listed Zeke as an impact freshman for ASU. Tough break for him.

What is going on at ASU? Sure seems like that's A LOT of guys they've now lost for the season before it even started.

Maybe with DE on the hot seat he is pushing them too hard and they are pressing, making mistakes and getting hurt? Who knows?

Heel up Zeke so we can see you next year

They're all knees and ligaments. Prevention on those things is fairly limited. It's just terrible luck.

Welp, that means that they're just about down to Vontaze Burfict (another CU recruit lost to ASU) and 10 other guys, which isn't much different from how they started fall camp. I just don't get all the ASU love.

On a different note, I hope Ezekiel (went to HS in Denver) gets better. After I get over guys not picking hometown CU I always root for them to do well.

So the new staff didn't even go after Bishop last year reportedly because they didn't want safeties and Embree said that they couldn't take Vlad Emilien because they didn't need any safeties and yet we end up signing three freshman safeties? What's up with that?

So last night everyone I was with didn't even see Bishop go out. I can't even tell you what happened. Someone down on the field then told me he was sitting near Ezekiel and Coach Erickson walked up to him and said "You still have a long bright future ahead of you" That's when we thought something was definitely wrong. After the game Erickson confirmed it. This is just another tough blow that hopefully someone else will step up. (Safety Alden Darby #4 looked solid last night)

Quick little recap of the game if anyone is interested:

Offense looked pretty good (You better against UC Davis) Lots of swing passes to the the RB's and a lot of runs up the middle with Cameron Marshall. We used at least 6 different RB's last night. WR Aaron Pflugrad looked good (2 TD's) QB Brock Osweiller played well. His 1 int was off of a tipped ball his WR should have caught. About 3 incompletes were easy catches that were just dropped. I was down on the field before the game and stood next to Brock. HOLY **** a 6'8" QB is scary. Tallest in Division 1 (heard that a few times can anyone confirm)

Defense was pretty good. Both of UCD TD's were against our 2nd or 3rd string. Vontaze played well 3 tackles for 3 sacks. But better than that he played smart, no penalties. Only 4 penalties on the night for the Sundevils, as opposed to last years 11 for 90yds in the opener.

Biggest surprise of the night? Kicking game. Alex Garoutte RS FR. had been inconsistent all camp. Kid comes in and hits 6 xtra points. And his first ever collegiate FG he absolutely NAILS a 50 yarder. On top of that he had to make a tackle on a kickoff and saved a touchdown. Hopefully Will Oliver has an awesome first performance like this.

TL/DR: Someone's gotta step up for Bishop. Offense played well. No dumb penalties. Kicker was solid. (Then again it was UC Davis)
