"That's OK," senior tight end Ryan Deehan said. "The coaches get loud, they get on us. But we know they're trying to help this team get better. And with the NFL background that they have, we respect them.

"The one thing I really like is, 'We don't lose.' That's the feeling you get, that losing is unacceptable. If we lose, all hell is going to break loose around here. Frankly, I love it. I'm sick and tired of losing." (emphasis added)

I am fired up for tomorrow, y'all. Let's get at it!!!

Definitely getting excited that the season is almost here and the attitudes appear to be changed. But until we win on the road, talk is cheap.

Maybe some money would add even more incentive...

With more big time programs getting named in cheating scandals, it does seem like paying the players is the norm at higher level programs. And, with the way the NCAA is losing its teeth, paying players does seem to be on the horizon. In the article I quoted, the players on our own beloved CU team said their coaches are treating them like professionals. Eventually, when we creep up in the win department and they earn more $$$ for our school, they'll want to be paid like pros too.

There is a directional Ohio state school?
Whoops....still getting used to this new keyboard. But with how easy tOSU got off just proves to bias the NCAA has towards the money making schools (tOSU, USC [they got ****ed though], Auburn, etc.).

I love this. It's a very good sign and a great start, but we are not there yet.
It's one thing to have an understaning of "we don't lose" and a whole other thing to have a gut level knowing of "WE DON'T LOSE, EVER!!". Right now it's still in our heads, we need that turning point moment. That moment when our buffs are behind late in the game and have to dig down deep and through sheer will pull out a victory. When that moment happens, when we know that the outcome of a contest is all up to us, we will become a very dangerous team. We will be Colorad Football again. The table is set for this transformation, I just can't wait for that moment to get here.

Is Deehan right that we won 't lose this year? No. We are all smart enough (thank you CU education!) to know that. What we have to keep in mind is that Hawk recruited these kids to come to Colorado and he failed them miserably. Part of what our current staff is having to do is rebuild their confidence. Some of the games we have not won were due to a lack of concentration, bad play calling, and poor execution in the crunch. The coaching staff who brought many of these players here was blown out of town (finally). That Deehan has the swagger and belief in his coaches to proclaim that settling for less than the best is simply unacceptable makes me feel awesome.

Now we have to get it done on the grass.
