i've digested the loss which i'm not happy to say i'm a bit used to....

said all along the weight of this game isn't what we made it. a slow first half is not a staggering mindbender for a team that is used to losing asked to do different things by a staff featuring two coordinator who have never called a game and a HC in his first. NFL experience wanking bedamned (can we not turn into Callahan we love the NFL new attitude type husker sheep? that period of time they claim never happened...the Callahan "invents the forward pass and wowzers trousers we love it!").

still a capable 2-2 type OOC puts us with a chance to be bowl eligible. not ideal, the loss, let's stay positive a bit. if it's less than 2-2, we are in a world of 4 wins and soul searching in the desert with a brutal schedule. another interminable off-season.

sobering is that we rushed the ball 28 times for 17 net yards. that just has to get better if that's what we say we do. D cannot give up 50% 3rd down efficiency.

My guess is that you were not this when typing this...lol But yes, we might be able to pull out a 2-2 OOC still. If so, keep building and fighting and maybe, just maybe, we make a bowl. I just want to keep seeing imporvement. THe OL wore down and once we were two scores behind, the Hawaii defense went off on them and they could not handle it. THe d did well, except when they blitzed they didnt keep thier heads up enough and didnt break down to tackle and let Moniz run wild. have to conatina those runs. Those lost us the game. The hawwi D does nto get to go off on us late if we had contained those runs and kept it close.

Hansen wasnt allowed to run. Coaches have to learn he isn't a pocket passer. He's better on the run with bootlegs and whatnot. Perhaps it's because our OL sucks, I don't know.

The yards for running is skewed too sine we took a lot of sacks. What was speedys total?

18 carries for 52 YDs.

I know a few people were ready to bite down on the cyanide capsule last nite, but to me it was just meh. We have an entire team that hasn't benefited from even adequate coaching at any position except LB since Hawk hit town.

Really glad they didn't eak-out a win. That would give them the wrong message. They deserved an asskicking for the way they came out of the chute, and by gosh they got one they'll remember. Up to the coaches to use that sting to motivate the team to improve to the level they need to be. I saw some really encouraging things in the schemes on both sides of the ball. Just need to get better execution from the guys that are in there, or wait it out until better or more motivated players move up to take their place. Might not even be this year, but I see good things ahead.

He did that have one play where he lost 8 yards, instead of 2. Was rather upset that he's still trying to do it all himself at this point. But I would probably feel the same given that 17 carries for 58 yards is pretty crappy.

That's the more telling stat than total yards on the ground. Ugh. How many sacks did we give up? Too freaking many. Some of that is the OL and some of that is Hansen.

A win at Cal and beating CSU will go a long way toward making me forget this little hiccup. My problem is, Hawaii is probably the 3rd least talented team we're going to face this year, so it's a bit of an uphill battle from here on out.
