3-0 Hawaii
Hawaii with the ball on CU's 39
1st and 10 1:04 left to play
Foul start Offense -5 yards
1st and 15 on the 44 yard line
Ball snapped with 44 sec left
CU blitz Mahnke sacked Moniz for 5 yard loss
2nd and 20 on 49 yard line end of Quarter
CU blitz Hartigan with a sack for a loss of 8 yards
3rd and 28 on Hawaii 43 Yard line
Moniz pass to 80 for 7 yard gain Orms with a huge tackle
4th and 21 on Hawaii 49 yard line.
At this point crowd is quite and CU has the momentum in the game.
Hawaii Punts, Richardson fair catch on the CU 21 Yard line
1st and 10 from CU 21 Yard line with 13:26 left in the 2nd Quarter
Stewart with a run off on right side for 17 yard gain to the 36 yard line.
You can see momentum starting to build.
Holding is called on Bahr Play is called back
1st and 20 from CU 11 yard line
Stewart run up the middle for a 4 yard gain to the CU 15 yard line
2nd and 16 from the CU 15 yard line
Richardson with a diving catch to the 30 yard line
Play is called back because of illegal procedure. Prior to the play you can see Richardson and Bahr yelling at Clemons to get up on the line of scrimmage. Not doing so, Richardson does come up to line so they have enough men on the line of scrimmage and then Clemons does, Richardson has to back off and you have the illegal procedure for too many men moving at once. Embo yells at Kennedy saying something like "I'll tell you what, if you don't have those mother ****er ________, your ****ing fired" and you can see him mouth "****ing 17". Clemons does not see the field for the rest of the day.
2nd and 21 from the CU 9 yard line
Hansen floats a 30 yard pass about 10 yards out of bounds
3rd and 21 from the CU 9 yard line
Stewart with a 5 yard run to the 15 yard line
Bahr missed his block on this play or Stewart would have had at least another 8-10 yards and possibly a 1st down. Important to note that the CU O-Line looked great up until this point in the game. Obvious that running 5 plays without gaining ground took its toll on the O-Line. The Hawaii crowd is starting to get back into the game and the Offense looks dejected.
4th and 16 from the CU 14 yard line
O'Neill with a great boot to the Hawaii 43 yard line fair caught
Hawaii 1st and 10 on their own 43 yard line 10:49 left to play in the 2nd Quarter
Moniz fakes hand off to the right and runs up the middle for a 57 yard touchdown. 10-0 Hawaii.
Hartigan over persues Moniz and misses tackle which the announcers catch. What they don't catch is Polk competely out of position. He runs up about 7 yards off the line of scrimmage, stops (you can tell he thinks the play is dead) and actually gets in the way of Uzo-Diribe who is trying to make a play while being held. This is the turning point of the game IMO.
Just three guys making three mistakes was enough to totally swing the direction of this game IMO. (Clemons, Bahr and Polk). Unfortunatly, this team is one that gets down a lot quicker than they get up and is not good enough to overcome a few mistakes. This will take some time to change. Whatever the case may be, CU actually played a great game until that first Off. poss. in the 2nd Quarter.
Just wanted to share.
