There's A Menace In College Football & It's Texas

Yup. If not for texas, nothing would have changed (well, we may still have gone ot the pac... but the nubs would not have gone to the big 10)

what if Texass and CU had gone to the PAC in the 1990s ?
would Texass had ruined the PAC ?

IMO what is going on is the last rats on the B12-3 ship are looking for a way out before the ship sinks...they can best do this by trying to stall aTm while they look for an exit. Rumors abound KU, KjSU, Mizzou and maybe Bailer or ISU can get into the Big East, Mizzou supposedly is jockeying for the SEC also. OU and Okie Lite are looking at the P12, UT and the TT sand aggies are the only schools not currently on the market, although UT is making rumblings about the ACC, B10 or P12. Bottom line, UT will kill it's second conference and I thnk the writer is correct...nobody really wants to add the cancer that is UT to their conference.

The SEC is going to 14, probably 16 , and will raid the B12 and Big East to get there.
The Big East is going to raid the B12 to restore it's losses.
The real kicker will be whether the B10/12 leaders and legends crowd lays hold of ND and expands, which will all but force the P12 to follow suit and the B12 will die an ugly death. If and when that happens, I hope Bevo is standing in a pasture either all by his lonesome, or with Rice, SMU, TT, UH and some MWC leftovers as his posse.

texas doesn't work and play well with others. when they came begging to the big 8 to let them in (after they and their cheating brethren in the swc brought that conference down), they professed humility and a willingness to be one of many.

signs of trouble appeared immediately when politicians in texas demande that the big 8 take baylor and tech along with ut and atm (the big 8 only wanted the 2 schools). the good folks then driving the bus for the big 8 (primarily nebraska and colorado) figured that this could all work out, even with the inclusion of 3rd tier programs like baylor (well, 4th tier) and tech. once the conference was re-formed as the big 12, ut starting throwing its weight around... conference championships to be held primarily in texas, league offices moved to texas, etc. this all didn't sit well with NU and CU (teams that had won national championships and that believed they should not be relegated to being one of ut's subservient "partners."

CU and NU, having tradition and enough strength to do so, left the over-reaching jerks at ut behind. the big 12 was dead as of that moment, it just didn't know it yet.

RIP big 8. texas can twist in the wind.

Texas isn't that bad. Oh wait.
