our fans don't rush the field like a bunch of asshats. This would not be a big win against an unranked Cal team.

whats the problem with charging the field? Celebrating JEs first win and coming back from playing terrible against cal last year, seems worthy b

You really don't see the problem with rushing the field when we beat mediocre teams, and how that might make our program look like a bunch of bottom-feeders? Wow. Embarrassing how far we've fallen.

Our students think we are the Baylor of the 2000's.

It's not like we've been world beaters. Obviously Embree feels it's a big game n

Dont worry nobody is rushing the field unless its like an overtime game winning field goal or something. Then ya never know.

Don't be a pussy. It's an unranked team that went 5-7 last year. Mobbing the field is always retarded, as it makes us look like we don't expect to beat anyone and it's some sort of huge shock if we manage a win. I'm positive Embree would agree with me on that, you're just contributing to a culture of making CU look like a bunch of losers

Can't but this is a brick game. Do you disagree with thr brick then to?

This mobbing the field **** is crap that grew out of us sucking ass under Hawkins. We didn't used to mob the field when we beat a 5-7 Kansas team. It's seriously sickening to see how ****ing dumb the students are.

I really don't have a problem rushing the field when we win against a big team but its gotten to a point we are rushing the field on every win now. Its kind of embarrassing.

And no I would not consider this a big win, brick game, or whatever anyone wants to call it. We are facing an average Pac 12 team in the nonconference. Its not a big game. Its important to win but its not a big game.

We didn't start doing it like crazy until Hawk came here. Of course I guess you could make the case that it is a shock when a Hawk team wins a football game. They are overcome with complete utter shock when we did win that they had to react in someway. Maybe the students aren't overreacting when you put it in that context.

There is one game in the last 5 years that was justified for a field mobbing - Oklahoma in '07. Buffs were down 24-10 late and came back to win against a top 3 team, and at the time it seemed like a win where the Buffs had "turned the page" (how wrong we were). All the other field mobbing is ****ing stupid and embarrassing, and don't go "But CVille that WVU win was pretty coolz tho LOLz". No, WVU wasn't very good, that's the dirty little secret there. After beating a 1-3 UGA team? That's just humiliating.

Mobbing the field for every win over a ****** team isn't some cool thing that CU does. There's a reason no one else does it -- because it's ****ing stupid and makes your program look like a complete joke (typically on TV). Any respectable team (and even many who aren't) don't mob the field just because they beat a team that went to a bowl..or is ranked #24...or even #9. Stop piling on even more embarrassment to what has been a horrible enough era for CU. Use the end of the Hawkins era to end the stupid, immature crap that the fan base did during those days as well. Act like you've been there before.

I disagree on the WVU game. I thought it was a big win although I do admit they had a really dumb coach.

Big wins in the last decade
2001 Nebraska
2001 Texas
2002 KjSU
2007 OU
2008 WVU

can't think of any others.

WVU wasn't the "epic win" that CU fans have led themselves to think it was. There's this perception around here that CU beat a top 5 team in WVU...WVU was coming off a THREE TOUCHDOWN LOSS to ECU in which they scored 3 POINTS. They were 21/24 in the polls on their way out of the top 25 and ended the year in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Beating a team at the very bottom of the top 25 (and on their way out to never reappear) just isn't an earth-shattering win. I enjoyed the atmosphere just like everyone else, but we didn't even score in regulation after the first few minutes.

For your guys sake I would pray that we never have a night game against a ****** team because if it is a blackout game and we win the fans will be on the field. No matter the opponent.

And that's exactly what's wrong with our fan base. Did the Hawkins era really pussify us so badly that people can't even see the absurdity of it and how no one else does this crap? Even UVA, with zero winning tradition whatsoever aside from some solid seasons in the 90's, doesn't do **** like this because they don't want to give their opponent the satisfaction of knowing they were "stunned" to have beaten them. Thanks for contributing to CU being a laughingstock, I hope for your sake you bump into Darragh down there .

Regarding the title:

I, for one, won't be sorry if we win this game, though I'm not sure what that has to do with rushing the field.

Are you drunk? Or just Dumb? Or both? Never in that post did i say "Im going to charge the field" or "A night game win is a good time to charge the field and we should always do it" I was just telling you thats what the fans do. Everyone gets wasted and it sounds fun to them.

I hope the Pac12 starts levying fines against teams like the SEC does for storming the field. Then at least our AD would care if this happens. At least against mediocre opponents.

Makes us look like a ****ing joke to rush after beating TT in '06 even though we dominated them that game. Ugh.

Pretty stupid thread. Worse part being posters who feel their personal sense of 'embarassment' should control how 15,000 kids react to a game's outcome. Seriously, who gives a crap about you and your embarassment and how can you be so obsessed with this, that it's a big pre-game issue for you?

Go Buffs

Talk about a fan base that has no fing clue and can not read its own coaching staff.....

This rushing the field business has gone viral the past few years because students see other schools do it on a really good win and want to do it themselves... so they lower their standards just so they can do it.

If any student thinks that Jon Embree will put up with rushing the field, to quote Bill Cosby: "You've got another thing coming."

If the students rush the field under his tenure, he will put a stop to it unless it is a game we win for the Pac-12 Championship.

the expectations are different now people... understand that please....

I am ok with it on a championship level only.... u win one... go celebrate with the players....

i forgot to add... if the fans rush the field prior to that.... Embree might tackle them himself....

I don't think we have anything to worry about
We don't do a prediction thread anymore but I think Cal pulls this one out 31 to 24
I hope I'm wrong but based on what last weeks performance attitude wise this team just isn't where it needs to be yet
