1. Stanford 2-0. LW 1
2. Oregon 1-1. LW 2
3. Arizona St. 2-0 LW 4
4. USC 2-0 LW 5
5. Utah 1-1 LW 3
6. Cal 2-0 LW 6
7. Washington 2-0 LW 9
8. Washington St. 2-0 LW 7
9. Arizona 1-1 LW 8
10. Colorado 0-2 LW 11
11. UCLA 1-1 LW 10
12. Oregon St. 0-2 LW 12

until you win a game, you aren't above anyone who has. schedule be damned.

they count this game in wins and losses.

I also wouldn't put WSU at 8. Both teams they played are trash, to say the least.

1. Stanford
2. Oregon
3. USC
4. Arizona State
5. Utah
6. Washington
7. Cal
8. CU
9. WSU
10. Arizona
11. UCLA
12. Oregon State

3 through 7 are pretty inter changeable IMO.

Pretty much agree. I look for WSU to move up. They haven't really played anyone yet but they are destroying those teams. AZ, CO and UCLA are interchangeable.

 At UCLA below us.

Colorado should be below UCLA.

Wrong, I think Leash is making a power ranking... not an ap usa today type of ranking. We're not talking who deserves to be where but who is better than who (how the polls really should vote imo, biggest problem with cfb (a better 1 loss team loses late, a worse 1 loss team loses early but the one who loses early gets in the champ game... BULL****)). Anyways, I think any unbiased observer would say we are better than UCLA and OSU (for now) and possibly Zona and WSU. I really think we're the 6th best team in the PAC but we gotta play UW and Utah on the road unfortunately.

i hate to tell you this, but Okie State has been pretty good for the last 3-4 years. Blackmon is a freak. Gundy v. Mikey Stoops is a mismatch.

True, but doesn't mean Zona doesn't suck. Okie lite is underrated, but Zona still sucks.

so i'm a USA today ranking because i think until you win a game....you ain't demonstrable better than 6 other teams in the conference....blanketed by the phrase "power rankings".

awesome analysis.

So you don't think there is two ways to 'rank' a team? Obviously it is a subjective argument, and we may disagree... but you don't think there is a difference between who is BETTER and who has won? So I take it you think CSU should be ranked ahead of us? Hell 2-0 and we're 0-2... I bet when the line comes out we're +30, thats how bad we are

We just lost to a very average Cal team at home with our WR having a career day and our QB (who didn't have a great game in my mind) throwing for over 400 yds. Not sure how anyone can think we are the 6th best team in the conference. Hell Cal isn't the 6th best team in the conference.

You're right... they're top 5.

These are my personal rankings, not standings. There is a difference. CU has impressed me a hell of a lot more than UCLA the last two weeks. A HELL OF A LOT MORE!

The good thing about that is you're talking about 3 of the 6 teams in the South. A 4th, USC, isn't eligible to win it (and they have a Kiffin problem anyway). A 5th, Utah, is already 0-1 in conference games. The 6th, ASU, is a team that could tank if it has to deal with some adversity. It's weird to say about an 0-2 team, but we have a chance to make some noise if we keep improving. The South is up for grabs.

Lets compare some things.

UCLA lost to Houston who is coached by Kevin SUmlin who you have mocked CU fans wanting in the past.
Then UCLA is tied late in the 4th quarter at home with San Jose State who won 1 freakin game last year

Colorado nearly came back and won in a tough place to play in Hawaii against a team that won 10 games last year.
Then Colorado came from behind from two double digit Cal leads and took a team that whooped the buffs 52-7 last year into overtime.

Colorado has a more impressive first 2 game resume IMO. Not saying Colorado is night and day better than UCLA, but there is no reason to say UCLA is better than CU right now. NONE!

Oh and who picked UCLA to win the south?

Until our guys prove they can win close games, I would rank them 10th or lower. The team needs to make a statement next weekend.

I put us 10th.

ANd sorry I just can't put Oregon state or UCLA higher than us right now, just can't. They suck ass!

I think Oregon State is a clear 12th. Beyond that, UCLA, us, and Arizona are probably interchangeable. It will work itself out over the season.

Boy you sure are grasping for that Buffalo sunshine Buffnik. LOL CU winning the south would take a minor miracle. I like your glass is half full attitude but I'm afraid I can't make my brain stretch that far on this right now. Maybe I have the same mindset of the team, which may part of the problem. I will be (not happy) but content if we can affect who goes to that CC game with an upset or two. This I do believe CU has the ability to accomplish...Then a top30 or better recruiting class and CU will be on their way to a not to distant future appearance in the PAC 12 (or 16) championship game. Then NATIONAL DOMINANCE, the likes that college football has NEVER SEEN!!!

Ya I can agree with that. I'll be doing a power ranking each week. I think in a few weeks Washington state could be thrown into the interchangables in the basement as well. Not sold on them yet after they have beaten a couple cupcakes.

Yeah, not sure what to make of Wazzu. They have not played anyone, but they have put up some big numbers. We will know a lot about them after the next four weeks:

@SDSU
@CU
@UCLA
Stanford

If they go 2-2 in that stretch, they are likely a bowl team.

BTW, I like the power rankings and weekly picks. I have no idea what to make of the SEC this year outside of Bama/LSU.

I'm not saying we're going to win it. What I'm saying is that there's no one in the South that's scary this season. We can compete and all our important goals for this season are still in front of us. You never know. Get a win this week. Continue to improve at Ohio State (win or lose), and then we'll see where we stack up in the Pac-12.

USC is very talented, but they are struggling scoring which means just about anybody has a chance against them. Heck a Minnesota team that lost to New Mexico state almost beat USC.

Utah lost a close one to USC and wasn't overly impressive against Montana state.

Arizona state does look decent early with a win over Mizzou (something we haven't been able to do in 6 years), but they are a lockeroom meltdown away from falling apart

Arizona got smoked by Okie state (second time in 8 months) and are in as brutal of a stretch of schedule as any team will face all year.

UCLA almmost lost at home to a 1 win SJ state team.

South does look pretty weak, and it's gonna be interesting to see how it goes down.

The South division is definitely pretty weak. USC is the most talented team in that division but they are underachieving in a big way. But to say we can make some noise in the Pac South is a bit far-fetched.
