IF Super Conferences Are Happening Here's What Scott Should Do

assuming A&M is out the door why shouldn't Scott do this ??

Invite Oklahoma and Kansas (only)

this would put pressure on OU to decide how important Okie St really is...
ditto to Kansas re: ksu

IF both say yes then you got to believe Mizzou gets nervous and Texass has to show their hand-

Okie St & TT can always be fall back schools if all else fails-

my sense that if OSU has a BCS option, OU would dump them. the "solidarity" angle is cute, but i'm not totally convinced. i realize football is driving this thing and that's not KU's market-share....but i don't get why they are so undervalued in all this. AAU member school, one of if not the top hoops program of all time....reasonable access to KC media market. but, i have some Big Ten friends (PSU, UM, Ohio State, Iowa) and they all are really dismissive about KU. no interest at all. scoff at the idea, like you were suggesting the Big Ten take Drake or something.

I third this.

but i don't get why they (Kansas) are so undervalued in all this.

Very low population growth rate in Kansas and Kansas City media market. Almost zero population growth there for awhile. This makes them less valuable when signing/negotiating long term media contracts. BTW, this is why you and Utah were more valuable than initially thought when it came time to sign the P12 TV contracts last year - high population growth rates in your areas.

But Kansas is still more valuable than Okie Lite. Not sure one can split up the Okies though. Only way I see Kansas in Pac is if we go to P14 first (add Okies), Texass says no to P16 and then Larry decides P16 w/o Texass is better than P14. Then Kansas is a logical #15. Then add a Texas team for #16. Like Baylor. j/k. :)

The problem with offering to KU is that they might, probably would, accept.

KU and MU are the most desperate crews on the planet right now. they are looking at a return to the Missouri Valley Conference or something....

and MU is basketball kryptonite having lose Anderson to Arkie, get publically jilted by Matt Painter and then hired Frank Haith (woo!) who may be dirtied up in the Miami thing. the guy didn't even cheat good.

I like the strategy, but I don't believe that OU would say yes unless OSU has a BCS landing spot. OU and UT can certainly decide to disband the Big 12 and re-form a new conference to their liking that includes OSU, TTU and 4-6 others that they like.

How about no expansion since we are already the most super conference there is.

If they have to add teams, add teams that fit the current culture. Hawaii, BYU, Boise St, SDSU, and maybe even AFA. To me anything east of CU just ruins it all. Honestly, I would rather see CSU join before anything out east of us.

Those additions would cost us millions.

The only way that expansion is viable is if we enter the central time zone.
