Toney Clemons still listed as co-starter at X receiver.

Parker Orms now listed as starting cornerback, Henderson starting nickelback. WTF? Is this a reaction to the level of the CSU WR's (meaning none of them can outrun Orms or Sandersfeld) or is it just a way to keep Orms on the field at all times? If that's the reason, Orms could play safety--hint, hint.

Castor still KO #1. I'm thinking Grossnickle should be splitting his practice time between punting and kickoffs.

I think Henderson is better and quicker than Orms (ntm Sandersfeld) at CB. I'm kind of surprised by this. Maybe they are looking to utilize Henderson as a ballhawk/safety valve for the slower CB's. Do the Lambs have a quick slot guy?

This depth chart is out-dated some, especially on the OL. Think we will see some changes if they release a new one prior to the game.

Mahnke should be lower on the chart after hitching a ride on Cal's TE's back into the endzone.

U
pdates include:(9/19 updated)

Tclem now the sole starter at X WR. Then Mccllough then Vincent.

Castor still kicking off. Sigh.

OL: Dannewitz still starter at LT. Bahk and Munyer still OUT. Dannewitz is backing up Tau at RT. Tau is backing up Miller at RT.
Edit: Listening to a JE interview from yesterday, sounds like Bahk is def back, Dannewitiz is fine, and Munyer is coming along nicely.

DL: Juda up to #2 with goldberg injured. Should see a lot more of him now.

CBs: Deji is now #1 NB, with Terror #2.

Tclem is out of the kickoff return team, with Block and Jones returning. Prich back to #1 at PR.

Backup long snapper is.... THORNTON.

Mahnke is still backing up Webb. Sigh. Disaster in the making there.

Smart teams don't put their one true elite talent back for punt returns.
USC put Reggie Bush back. This staff is playing to win today and you need someone who can make plays on punt returns. Who else has the ability to take one step then be gone?

You're not going to get many punt returns returned for TD's. It's far more important that Richardson stays healthy and does his thing at WR. I'm not saying to put Vince Ewing back there, but this is a recipe for disaster with PRich

USC had other talent that could step up and take some of the load. Sure they couldn't replace Bush but they could have someone. If we loose P-Rich we don't have anything/anyone to step up in the wide receiver game.

update on kick returners: CUAttheGame caught that JE has named 2 KR that are different then the depth chart:
On if he has settled on a kick returner“I think we will still go with the same two guys, [Toney] Clemons and [Kyle] Washington right now.”
On Kyle Washington being a kick returner
“He’s done it and been successful at it in high school. I thought he was a good running back coming and I think he’s a good football player. Obviously having him handle the ball as much as he did as a high school player, you trust him with the ball security issues. He has good size so you are not worried about if a guy comes free on a block and takes a shot that he is not going to give the ball up. Those were two of the factors that we looked at when we put him back there.”

October 10 depth chart lists Tu'umalo as the backup at free safety. I wonder if he stays at safety or moves to LB later in his career. It depends on how fast he is, I guess.

I think Tu'umalo will be a safety unless he really bulks up (like 25-30 more pounds). Same thing for Harlos.

Woodson Greer not listed on depth chart but Ahles is at #2 SOLB.

Really disappointed we haven't seen more from Thornton or Slavin at TE.

And maybe I missed this but when did Webb change his number again? Wasn't he #5 to start the season? I assume he made the switch so he could play ST with Speedy on the field.

on the # thing why do we have so many guys with the same #? That is the one thing that has always bugged me about college football ! You have from 1 to 99 -a few retired #'s (I think CU has like 3 or 4)... always thought thet was weird, I wouldn't want the same # as someone else

Thornton has played a decent amount, only had the ball thrown his way maybe 5 times. Slavin is a RS Fresh, behind a few upper classmen, give him time.

for the first three games I always held my breath on punt return because always we had Webb (#5 athe the time) and Stewie (#5) out there together. I do not know how we never got flagged.

Throw in walk ons and you're often around 110 guys.

Just another reason it was so stupid to take the names off the jerseys last year.

Webb has had three different numbers in his last 7 games (going back to last year).

Actually 4 he wore #98 on ST's in the washington state game. It was really cool he had a velcro on jersey that they would put on him real fast before the play then rip it off after.

He must be attached to five. Because it seems like a pain to Velcro the 98 jersey on for special teams plays.
