Looks about right to me. I'll say 3 distinct groupings of teams: 1-2, 3-7, 8-12.*

*Disclaimer, it could be 4 groupings: 1-2, 3-7, 8-10, 11-12

I'd probably have a different order 3-7, ASU did a lot right and a lot less wrong last night. We'll know a lot more after Utah and Washington play this week. Does trouncing BYU really top trouncing USC?

You could swap Utah and ASU either way. You do have a point since SC did beat Utah and ASU beat SC. I don't think SC is all that good especially on the road and Utah crushed a rival in their rivals house. Again, could go either way. As you can see my opinion changes each week based off what I have seen. There will probably be a different order next week as well. Thanks for your input.

EDIT: I think I also just have a hard time putting ASU that high right now. I still don't buy their hype, we'll see.

I didn't either, but they looked pretty good last night. If they can maintain that level of play - which remains to be seen - they should be the South representative in the Championship Game. Between them and Utah at this point and I don't think its going to be Utah.

Burfict is a stud. If ASU can keep their compusure, they have a great shot. They did look good. Other than ASU and Utah, the south is pretty blah right now.

how the **** is Utah ahead of USC Unleash?

Read my reply to Z, I said they could be switched, and I agree after thinking about it more that ASU should be above Utah. The south is gonna come down to those two schools though. Not your mighty UCLA bruins like you picked.

Arizona is turrible.

Do you think they're worse than Colorado? I can see CU beating them because the game is here, but overall as a team, do you think they're worse? I think the bottom five of Wazzu, UCLA, Zona, CU and Oregon state are all pretty close in suckitude.

Yes, I think they're worse. They're slow. They tackle poorly. Thier offense is plodding and unimaginative.

Defensively, you may be right. Offensively? Couldn't disagree more. I think they had about 500 yards of offense against Oregon. Anyway, the Cats definitely suck this year, I'm just afraid we suck harder.

Colorado also had a lot of yards against Cal.

Last 4 recruiting classes according to scout. 2 of those years CU was ranked higher, 2 years zona was ranked higher. Pretty much every class the two programs are within 30 spots of each other. I would say programs are pretty similar.

08: CU #27, AZ #39
09: CU #57, AZ #42
10: CU # 70, AZ # 39
11: CU # 62, AZ #71

How did AZ start recruiting so well again this year? Same coach.. pretty sure same coach and poor results means beyond awful recruiting until the wins start pouring in, right Hawk?

ehhh I don't know about that, maybe at the QB position. Criner maybe a slight edge over PRich. Overall though, they're close to us.

I wouldn't even think twice about taking Foles over Hansen. Would be a huge upgrade.

Overall though, you are right that their recruiting has stagnated a bit. At the beginning of his tenure, Stoops was pulling in top 25 classes. The Arizona game is winnable, especially at home.

First, I don't think there is a big difference between the teams - they both are in the bottom third of the Pac-12. Second, your analysis is a bit skewed as far as this year's teams go because (a) We all know what a stellar class '08 turned out to be for us, and (b) Not a lot of kids from Arizona's '11 class are seeing the field this year. Take out those two years and there is a wide gap in "talent" between the players who are actually playing this year.
