RT @KyleRingo: Colorado coach Jon Embree said he is down to four healthy CB's, including Jason Espinoza, who recently moved back from WR

hrmmmm. Lots of safetys gonna be playing CB against this spread team. At least our safeties haven't gone down. Perkins is coming alive.

Pretty much tells you what this staff thinks of Hawkins and Vigo.

Yep. As far as CB goes, I hope we see Henderson continue to play pretty well and keep developing. I pretty proud of that kid for coming as a true frosh and hanging in there. He made a nice play in the endzone against OSU.

Looks like you weren't fair to Vigo here.
On who will take Orms’ place – “We’ll look at Deji (Olatoye), (Josh) Moten … that’s really about it. (Jason) Espinoza, but that’s it. Those are the last three guys. (Paul) Vigo has a pulled hamstring. So that’s like I say, how much do you want to expose Greg Henderson? It’s like that at a few positions, but it is what it is. We’ve just got to go with it

nd not sure I like this quote at ALL :
On tearing off the red-shirt of some of his freshman defensive back recruits (Will Harlos, Kyle Washington, Jermane Clark, River Thompson) – “No. Nope. No. Nope. Nope. That’s it. That’s all we’ve got.”

Washington and Harlos already burned their redshirts didn't they? Washington definitely did, and I thought Harlos had been playing on ST.

Where's bigbang to tell us that we have 4 future NFL All Pro's at CB and that we're gonna be just fine?

Time to move Makiri Pugh back to DB for us. I am also interested in who has used their RS. I don't recall seeing Harlos playing at all and I thought Washington went down with an injury in the pre-season.

I'm 99% positive I've seen Harlos out there on special teams. I thought he was close to the ball when Darragh shanked that one rugby punt off of the back of the Ohio State gunner.

Harlos has played on special teams. Washington is a safety now and has been getting a lot of time on special teams, including returns.

It was Sherrard Harrington who went down in the preseason. It was a hip injury the 2nd week of August and he was supposed to be out for 4-6 weeks. I don't know if he's healed up yet, but since he hasn't been mentioned by the coaches I'm guessing that they have decided to redshirt him.

And I hope they don't have to burn the r/s on Sherrard. The kid needs time to heal and to get bigger/stronger, imo.

Also, it sounds like I was a bit unfair to Jonathan Hawkins, too. He's having constant knee problems and that's why he hasn't seen the field.

I saw Harlos getting chippy with someone in the Ohio St. game, seen Washington quite a bit. I hope we start seeing these guys get some reps on D, of course we need the right situation for that. There are certain guys that have hurt their pt because of playing ****** on special teams. Off topic but Brewster at Texas decided to hang it up because of concussions. He went to Mullen right?

Yeah, I think he was a Mullenite. And with as dinged up as our secondary is, it's definitely not out of the question to see one or both of the frosh in on some D plays this weekend.

I am a little disappointed to hear these guys have burned up a year by playing special teams but I also like that they are getting a chance to get their feet wet. Things are going to change this week after we light up WSU. I gotta feeling.

Yes. Saw him play ST as a true freshman. Might've taken snaps at safety in his time there but I never saw him play that in a game. His best chance to see the field was last year when the secondary was getting torched and having other issues but he was redshirting to get healthy. I believe he would have seen plenty of game action had he committed here. Wonder if he wants to get into coaching like Pops?

There's no redshirts to pull. Clark is more likely a LB in the future. The River Thompson kid is a walk-on that is about 5'6" and 145 pounds and no where near ready to play at this level.

Brian Lockridge is a great kid.... all 5'7" of him.

Bell, Vigo, Hawkins, Sandersfield and Orms all out. And we were worried about CB coming out of summer.

I'd expect to see 5 DB's on the field:

Perkins, Polk, Henderson, Olatoye and Terrell Smith at Nickel and some CB. Moten and Washington could see time at CB as well.

This is why you do not take years off in recruiting at different positions. We took off about 2-3 years. I hope we find a couple guys in the 2012 class that can compete for starting jobs in the secondary right away.
