Got To Believe Mizzou Will Stay In The Big 12

If the Big 12 can pull this off, it will survive. We need to hope this happens.

$EC will expand to 14 teams. They will not play next season with 7 teams in one division. MU is a much better fit than WV.

If the Big 12 schools sign off on that deal, there's a very good chance the Pac-16 won't ever happen.

This just means Texas will do everything in its power, to have all of its games away from ESPN, ABC, etc.

I doubt it, but that would be hilarious.

It's only for 6 years. Which means the raiding would begin in 5. 5 years should be enough to determine how successful the P12 regional network will be and whether or not the Longhorn Network will ever achieve widespread carriage. 5 years also ought to be enough time for the ACC to decide whether or not they want to expand to 16. But as 77buff has mentioned, the action that could accelerate all of this would be if the SEC moves to 14.

5 years is long enough for us to get our house in order, year 1 of the pac12 media deal recovers what we lost when we left the big12 and partially covers our one outstanding loan. From there it is all free money, for coaches, facilities you name it.

If possible, I would like to see us be a little more aggressive on the borrowing side. Our product on the field is awful, with no immediate improvement in sight. It would really help if we could be talking to high school kids about the university's commitment to football and the new facilities under construction. I realize this will probably never happen, but the AD/University really needs to do something major to prop up football right now.
