It's on now, LSU vs Bama

It was only 21-3 early in the 3rd but then LSU turned this one into a rout in a matter of about 5 minutes of game time.

LOL at wsp saying LSU was overrated. I laugh everytime I see that sig.

can't wait for the game. Can't ****ing wait.

Cool story bro. I am so glad you and Tini will be able to use this board as a smack board for that game. Should be great reading!

i listened to this game on the way home from work. the announcers were saying that this is the first year in 74 years that LSU was not playing one single home game under the lights at home. the elders were all kinds of upset about it.

that is some f-ed up ****!!!! lsu and the sec are all about night games!!! that is when thier stadiums are the best! the thought of LSU not having one single home game at night this year is stupid. what the hell is the AD thinking?

if CU ever plays at LSU, i will be there and i prey to God that its a night game. not only for my comfort but just for the experience. sad.

you sure an LSU or SEC board wouldn't suit your needs better? It's literally all you talk about
I graduated from CU in 1977. Did you ever go to CU? I got alot of posts saying support CU. You don't see me bashing CU like alot of the so called Buffs fans are doing right now.

I'm a CU alum (nice try though). Of course you don't bash CU, you're too busy talking about LSU incessantly. I understand that we all deal with CU being down in different ways, and for some unfortunately it's by living vicariously through another team (or thirteen others if you're 'tini), but damn. I'll give you this though - Bama fans are ****ing douchebags.

I got my undergraduate degree from LSU. My master's at CU. I was born in Louisiana. I love both universities, and would go to both if I had it all over to do again.

Question is, would you be posting all this LSU is so awesome **** if they werent top 5 on the football field? Nobody here is an LSU fan, maybe you should go suck their nuts on their board and come over here to talk about CU. That way everybody wins.

This game is going to be epic. Can't wait. Game of the year in a year that has had some great ones!

LSA Bama could be epic. Could we see a 0-0 game that's decided in OT?
The worst thing about this game is that the loser won't get to play in the NC game. With all respect to Alabama, if we beat them they deserve a rematch.
These 2 teams are by far the 2 best teams in college football, maybe in a long time. Nobody comes even close to them.

In a long time really? Dont see it, they are very good but people are so easily impressed these days. They dont deserve a rematch whoever wins. Fact is, yes, the SEC has the 2 best right now. Why should Stanford get shunned coming from a major conference? Stanford wins out, they deserve a shot, not a one loss SEC team because they think they are entitled to it. Same reason they spout the SEC is the best, is the same reason they better see it as a winner take all.

Take it easy BL. There are football fans on this board who still enjoy watching the college game when its being played at such an incredibly high level. The top programs in the country are worthy of some chatter on this college football message board.

It's a good thing LSU and Bama get to beat up on the likes of Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, etc, so that ESPN and the redneck southerners can tell us how amazing they are and how epic this game is going to be. I think we might have a chance at finishing middle of the pack in the SEC this year. Seriously, some bad football going on down there.

You can't be serious.

Here's my problem with the SEC. They have some great athletes, make no doubt about it, but other conferences just put as many guys in the league as they do. It's not like everyone on an SEC roster gets drafted. Not every team in the SEC recruits nationally. Hell, you can count the number of players on all SEC teams not in the South (and for LSU not Texas) and I'd bet it's less than 60 for all teams combined. West coast kids don't go to play there since it's a huge culture shock.

What they do have are people that live for football and know a lot about the game. And they have a lot of fans. Tennessee is a small state, but fills 100k+ people in the stadium at Neyland. Bama's stadium is huge. LSU's may not be the biggest, but they have plans to expand. Florida's stadium is a monster. Miss St has more support than CU did when we were at the top, but that's something they've never seen. Ole Miss is a bottom feeder, but hasn't always been. Arky hasn't done well in the SEC, but used to compete regularly for championships in the SWC and again has crazy support and 2 (wtf?) stadiums. Georgia has done less with more over and over again. South Carolina also has some pretty good support. UK is thinking about expanding their stadium and they are horrible.

Basically, what I'm saying is that all of the SEC teams--except Vandy--have a great fanbase that is passionate about the game and that resonates with recruits and messageboards and the like. Hell, even Vandy had Gordon Gee (our prez during our run and current tOSU prez) and he helped turned their athletics around. There is basically no such thing as an "easy" road game in the SEC and that is a reason why it's so damn good to watch, even if the football is crappy. And it can be crappy.

It's the same reason why the B1G gets a lot of love, but has sucked for years now. Huge fan bases with big money = the media slobbing their knob.

But here's something you can't deny. The SEC has some of the best coaching that CFB has to offer. They pay the big bucks and get the Sabans, Miles', the Muschamps (stolen as HCIW from UT, but may not be a HC for very long) and all of the up and coming coaches all to win the game. They have some of the best coordinators and position coaches (hi Grimes? remember us?) and have the best facilities (hi Tennessee with their 100MM facility) in the nation. You think UO has some nice facilities? Imagine if 5 schools had facilities like those, with the others trying to find the money to do it. It's ridiculous and over the top, but it's part of SEC culture. In the arms race of the SEC, everyone is building up.

It's why I enjoy SEC football. Defense oriented--none of that UO nonsense--where inches matter more than in any other league. 3rd and 4th and one matter in the SEC and teams are built for those situations. Special teams are huge and being a team that can rush for 180+ a game makes you the bell of the ballroom. Not all of it is good, but let's not pretend like a down Florida doesn't have solid athletes. Or Georgia. Or Auburn. Top teams around the nation can compete with anyone. The middle of the pack is where the SEC excels. The teams in the middle are better than the middle in just about all of the other leagues.

Stanford respectfully disagrees. I have not seen a more complete team in all three phases of the game this year (Defense, Offense and STs). Alabama and LSU may have better Ds, but that is only one part of the game. Stanford would give both teams a run for their money. They have perhaps the best OL in football led by the nation's #1 player in Luck at QB and they have a tough defense and great STs. I don't think either Alabama or LSU has the offensive firepower of Stanford and it would be a very interesting matchup to watch.

Very true but thats all 77 talks about.

Tide opens as a 4-point favorite over top-ranked LSU. For informative purposes only.

I predict a 14 point win for the Tide.

You are smarter than I thought. You have never been serious about this from the beginning.
