Love that he's visiting. He's a huge target. It's worth checking out the highlights on Rivals and especially on Scout which has the full junior year reel.

Does getting all these TE's to visit put pressure on guys like T Mac to commit?

Considering the list of TEs we have targeted, I'd take 4 this cycle if we can get them. I'd even go to 5 if we were able to land a JUCO.
Yup. 3 would play imho. Maybe 1 would RS this year, 1 the year after depending on health.

Nice production his senior year. His team was just knocked out of the playoffs in a tough 10-9 loss to the powerhouse Rockhurst program.

Overall, he had 23 receptions for 370 yards and 5 TDs in 11 games.

We need TE options so i'm on board with this kid. I also like the idea of adding a bunch of bodies. 3-4 kids in this class would be fine IMO. I think in some respects, you can find kids who might not fit as well coming off the line in terms of route running, and stick them back at FB, H-Back or in some cases on the OL/defense so the value is two fold. We seriously need talent upgrades at the position. Between our interior line failing to move people off the ball and our TE's/OT's not sealing the edge on off-tackle/slant plays, our running game has been getting killed. Bring in a bunch of kids and if they don't fit, move them around. We need an influx of talent here, probably worse than any other position on the field including OL/DB as they currently stand.

Looks like Ole Miss might be looking at turning over coaching staff again. A lot of disappointment that they are not more competitive in the SEC this year. Might loosen up a few of their commits.

Yeah. Nutt's gone at the end of the year.

CU is about the furthest away from Ole Miss as you can get. Will a guy who wants to go to school in Oxford, MS decide Boulder is the place for him?

He's from Columbia , mo. Probably more familiar w CU than he is Ole Miss.

What's he's seen of CU over the last 5 years has been nothing short of pathetic. We probably wish he didn't have any idea of where CU even is.

Sounds like he has a pretty respectable offer list. Any insight into why he's not gotten an offer from Missouri?

Not sure. I am a little curious as to how he showed up on our radar. One thin connection is he attends the same high school that Logan Gray did, but that is pretty flimsy.

The coaches were going up and down the rivals.com TE database in desperation

Big body and can continue to grow. Decent athlete. Not great. Won't be shredding the seems of the defense. Can jump and go high for balls. Doesn't hurt that his height helps him here. He reminds me of a larger version of Deehan.

Agree with Highlander's assessment. His size really jumps out on film while his speed/athleticism is okay. Should be able to grow into a good complementary TE in two-TE sets.

The thing I notice is that Sean Irwin and him are both big bodied kids. I have a feeling they will help early in the run game but really only impact pass plays on PA boots and such where running up the back side of zone coverages.

I think Stanford used an approach very similar where they just grabbed up a lot of decent athletes, big kids, made them proficient run blockers and paraded them out on the field, catching when they need to.

We still lack a dynamic presence here in the pass game but forward thinking, we are recruiting bigger backs, Norgard is going to get a crack at being the lead FB, and we're bringing in a bunch of wide-bodied TE's. If Shead makes the jump to Boulder as anticipated, we're going in the right direction with our running game. These kids will start displacing the LOS a couple of yards based on size and strength. That is a really good thing. Hopefully we can keep adding size and bulldozers to our OL. Some of these parts won't come highly rated but I like the early look we could be showing on offense in a few seasons.

When you consider their impact on special teams, we almost can't have too many tight ends. I want at least 4 this cycle.

Thats too many, three is just enough. Would be happy with Irwin, Ray and Mcnamara.
