2012 Conference Schedule

I apologize if this was posted elsewhere but I was wondering if anyone knows what teams we play from the north? Since you play 4/6 teams from the other division what is the system used to determine who you play? We really got a bad break this year playing Oregon, Stanford, and Washington. Would be nice if we only had to play 1/3 soon.....ASU only played Oregon of those 3 this year

Utah didn't play Stanford or Oregon :wow:

The Big XII had the same problems. I wanna say that Kansas and Iowa State had years where they had to play both Texas and Oklahoma, but the there were two years they didn't play either.

Thanks! I looked all over for something like this. So sucks for us...next year we get the big 3 from the north again. I guess the year after that should be a little easier

I guess the one thing I still don't understand is in 2013 we still play 4 teams from the north....so we will def play Cal and Oregon State since we aren't playing them this year or next. What determines which 2 of the other 4 we play?

We only play 3 teams from the north. The Cal game wasn't a "conference" game this year.

Incorrect. We played four teams from the North - Stanford, Oregon, WSU, UW. We play 4 teams from the North every year.

And to answer letsgoavs192's question - I have no idea, but I've been wondering the same thing myself.

Cool, well if anyone knows the answer post it here. The good news is next year we get Stanford at home without Luck (hopefully), and Washington at home. Right away those games are much more winnable than they were this year.

Hopefully in 2013 when we are much improved we will avoid Oregon

Stanford will take a huge dropoff next year. Washington will be better, but it's here.

We will play Oregon in 2013.......

In the Pac-12 championship game in Folsom field!

The trick is to figure out which schools are paired with Oregon and Stanford for CU. If Oregon and Stanford are paired with each other, then we're off the hook for both of them for two years, but stuck with both of them for four. If UO is paired with WSU, and Stanford with UW, then we get one or the other every year, and both for two years. Make sense? No, not to me, either. The 9-game conference schedule is kind of brutal, if you ask me.

Holy crap! We play Oregon 6 straight years!?!?!?!?!???:wow::cry:

Unless the Cali schools relent, we will always play the Washington and Oregon schools 6 out of every 8 years and the NorCal schools only 4 out of every 8 (to accommodate USC/UCLA playing Cal/Stanford every year).

I noticed that, too. Weird. Sucks for us.

no. wait. it sucks for THEM. That's right. SUCKS FOR THEM. We're not stuck with them for 6 straight years, THEY'RE STUCK WITH US.

Another way to look at it is that every year we'll play three out of the four NW schools and one out of the two NorCal schools.

In any given year, we play either Cal or Stanford, plus 3 of the 4 NW schools on an equally rotating basis. This means that in the 8 year cycle, we play Cal or Stanford 4 times each, and UW, WSU, UO, and OSU 6 times each.

This schedule was necessitated by the concession to the Cali schools that Cal, Stanford, USC, and UCLA will play each other every year. This is how they got Cal and Stanford to agree to be in the North division, and to the SoCal schools who wanted to play Cal and Stanford every year.
