Tony Brown - Former Bluechip WR Transferring to CU

"He was recruited by Darrin Chiaverini to Texas Tech so it’s no surprise that the now receivers and recruiting coordinator at CU was able to convince Brown to play for him again."

Chiaverini comes through again.

outside of the wall, I had questioned if we recruited this kid. Sorry. I am excited about this one. We need more balls on the field - footballs that is. We don't have enough to go around. Our receiving corp is going to give DC's a lot to think about, along with Mr. Montez...now, to start bolstering up the run game.

sounds like he is enrolling in January? Is that true? Makes more sense to get him on campus now and practicing this fall - lots of great receivers to replace next year.

Yeah that wouldn't make much sense. His clock started. Would be good to get the extra time in with team. Maybe it's school related and having to get to CUs standards before enrolling.

He's going to take a few credits this fall and join in January. Have to make the 85 scholarship limit work and he'll be in Boulder for spring ball. I don't think he misses much considering that he knows Chev and a lot of the system already.

But if he's not enrolled, does it count for the transfer year?

He would have to redshirt 2017 regardless. This doesn't change anything about his eligibility at CU.
I get that he wouldn't play in 2017 regardless. My concern was that if he isn't enrolled in 2017, he'd have to sit out 2018. Sounds like that's not the case. So, good.
