'18 CO QB Blake Stenstrom (SIGNED to COLORADO)

Hasn't Luke always been a QB prospect? Would be highly surprised if he managed to overtake Stenstrom in his senior year.

I honestly don't know much about Luke but I wasn't fully aware he was a QB. I knew he played other positions last year so it kind of surprised me. I'm thinking the same thing, stenstrom has earned it.

I suspect a bit of daddy influence. I've seen it 1st hand, these ex-NFLers get a LOT of say all throughout their son's playing careers. it certainly amplifies when you've already had 2 kids go thru the program and donate a ****load to the HS (I assume). my son's path will look like Stenstrom's in many ways in that he will have to sit behind an NFLer's kid who is already 6'6" going into freshman year...

A 6'6" freshman? Wow that's a huge 15 year old.

Blake Stenstrom's dad is also an ex-NFLer

As the article stated, I think they plan on rolling at about a 70/30 Stenstrom/McCaffrey mix like they did with Blake and Dylan last year. McCaffrey is by far the better athlete, so they might have certain packages for him where he gets to use more of his athleticism. It is odd to me, though, that they would take one of their best, if not the best, players/athletes off the field for 70% of the time just so he can solely focus on QB.

HS sports are so unfair or to fair, depending on where you fall on depth charts. There is always so much influence on the coaches when a kids parents teach at the school, run the local bank, own a local car dealership, dad was a football star, etc... Playing the best player, most talented player, the player that gives you the best shot at winning doesn't always happen. The players have to overlook that and perform their best when given opportunity while hoping scouts are watching.

Nepotism, favoritism, parent influence, etc. happens everywhere, but let's not act like the McCaffrey's were the benefit of this. Each one of them have been the best players in the state at some point during their HS career. Stenstrom is a really good player, and will get the majority of the PT at Valor this year, but Luke is a really good player as well.

Just to mention, Valor plays on Altitude (Friday) tonight. Time to see Blake live against a Nevada team (Faith Lutheran).

Our QB situation has gone from dire to a strength in two years.

Incredible.

The battle between Lytle and Stenstrom in 2020 will be epic.

Actually, it needs to be closer to his ear! :ROFLMAO::sick:(n)(y)
Throw like a football, not a baseball. I am sure that is not him.. just a photoshop.

Looking a bit shaky. Had a guy wide open deep and overthrew him. Penalty would've brought it back anyway. The last drive he overthrew his receive on 3rd down. Valor doesn't have a first down yet.

Valor just went 99 yards for a score. Stenstrom had a nice keeper, sort of a QB draw, on 3rd and 8 from the 3 to get them out of the end zone. He had a couple of nice throws and a couple of sketchy ones. He probably ran for close to 20 yards on the drive. McCaffery played QB on a few plays and ran keepers.

Stenstrom throws the ball well with a lot of pace. He's struggled on throws when the receiver is in a crowd. He's had a couple of nice throws over the middle. He's had a couple dropped, and he's been a little off on a couple of mid range sideline throws. Just now he threw a beautiful 40 yard seam with tight coverage. It was on the money.

Valor has a kid named Tebow. Are you kidding?

This Stronhauer (?) kid playing QB for Faith Lutheran is really good. 18-23 for 246 yds.

Stenstrom just got flushed out of the pocket and threw it deep while rolling left and threw an int.

Best QB on the field is the junior at Faith Lutheran. Wonder if we have any coaches at the game.

Okay, Valor snapped the ball over Stenstrom's head. He chased it into the end zone but in the battle for the ball, FL knocked it out of the end zone. You are the ref. What's the call?

They called it a touchback and gave Valor a first down at their 20. That cannot be correct.

But Stenstrom just gave up the pick six.

Yep he forced that.

DBT #10 is Stenstrom. #2 is McCaffrey, he threw the first INT and had the snap go over his head. And Thibault, not Tebow :D

Wait, Stenstrom threw the pick six. Not McCaffery. And they don't have names on the jerseys, so it sounded like "Tebow" to me. I figured I had the spelling wrong. Haha.
