2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown (8/31)

I’m still worried after their late comeback. Seemed like they got a little positive jolt from that. We most definitely should handle them but I’m always nervous about CSU’s super bowl. They have some talent and they will leave it all on the field. Hopefully our guys are hungry for that first game and don’t overlook CSU due this Hawaii game.

I feel the same way. They are mad, nothing to lose and figured out a passing game.

Buffs need to want it more

Agree with both of these posts. I didn't see the game, just the highlights ... but it always makes me nervous when the Goats have a game under their belts (regardless of how badly they may have played) and we don't.

I look it like this, they are gonna come out pissed off and throw a ****ing haymaker. First drive for the D has gotta be, let's set the tone. Just stay composed and execute.

I didn't see the entire game...turned it off at 37-7.

Did the Ewes actually find a passing game or were the RW just playing soft/zone etc?

Both. UH went prevent and we’re terrible at it. The ewes found a bit of a rhythm and exploited the hell out of the backend of the UH defense.

I really think this is the most important game of the season for Montez. We all saw how awful CSU's secondary was as they gave up 418 yards to Hawaii. Hawaii, people. The way he plays during this game, IMO, sets the tone for how he plays all season. I think he gets a really important confidence boost before going to play the fuskers if he has a good game. I just don't want to see him go out against CSU and make a bad play on an early drive and then struggle all game because he think he has to make up for it.

I think he will have a big game, however. Montez should be able to torch them for at least the same of yards, if not more. I hope CU throws some of those shovel passes in the game-plan like Hawaii did because CSU could not stop those at all. They got beat big all night with those little screen plays. Plus it's an easy way to get Montez into the game early.

Did anyone else notice last night that Preston Williams does not give any ****s about winning? It's really obvious that he's out there for him and to just catch passes as a 1 year NFL audition. Little effort when he wasn't getting the ball.

Imagine yourself as a guy who was recruited to play in the SEC and has been relegated to the MWC. You think he went to CSU to win? He went to CSU because they’ve had two number 1 WRs get drafted into the league the last two years. He’s a mercenary. As are all college transfers, Travon McMillian included.

You're the guy saying only talent matters... who cares?

these type of stats make me nervous. it should be playing into our strength assuming our secondary is still money. but, that was a really good performance from that sheep offense. yes, only against uh. they've got a game under their belts.

plus, this is why i hate spread and pseudo-spread offenses. if i knew we were going to see the Buffs go out there and punch these ****ers in the mouth, over and over again, with a physical nasty run-first offense, i'd be a lot more confident that we won't let them hang around. grass basketball is just too back and forth.

still, we should win 55-10. just like we should every year.

shear the sheep. eat the lamb chops. move on.

I'm the guy that says talent matters. It does. Preston Williams plays...every snap...and doesn't show effort. The parallel you're trying to draw doesn't exist.

You're the one beating the dead horse at this point. When are you going to move on? At least try to have a real conversation instead of being a snarky dick.

A real conversation with your hot takes is not going to be productive.

I'm wondering at this point if you're capable of not being a holier than thou jack-ass. Are you?

You're the one that attacks everything you don't agree with in every thread. Did you ever even play? Coach?

I am. We can stop for a few weeks.

On the Neinas scale, how big of an advantage do we have in special teams in this game?

We have at least a ten Neinas advantage.

We should create a special unit of measurement called a toby. Each **** up on a special teams play is one toby.

So if CSU has 7 ****ups, and CU has 2, that's a 5 toby advantage for CU on the Neinas scale.

I think the Post just picks up the Buffzone articles.
Correct, same horrible company owns both, Alden Capital FTW. As far as Williams, heard he was already dinged up for week one. He is quick with the ball in his hands, but seems to put it on the ground some how with every kick return. Nowhere near as good as Gallup IMO.

If CU doesn't absolutely throttle that CSU defense, it's going to be a very rough year. That may be the worst defense CU plays all year (yes, I know who CU plays in Week 3).
