I still think that if it looks like Montez declares for the draft that we'll be considering a grad transfer QB.
Hadn’t thought about it at this point, but at the rate he’s going he’s going to be playing on Sunday’s next year.

By thinking they’ll take a grad transfer are you admitting that none of the QB’s in the cupboard are ready to start? What does that say about our QB’s? Noyer, Lytle, Stenstrom and next year Evans doesn’t seem like a bad collection of QB’s.

All it would say is that there was a guy who would give the team a better chance. I think that list would be very short. It’s not a desperate situation by any stretch.

I think bringing in a grad transfer is a tricky thing. It could have a negative impact on team chemistry, for one thing.

Sure. Just like a JUCO signing could. Or a freshman who comes in and wins a job. In fact, less of a locker room risk when everyone knows he'll only be there for a year and transferring out would gain you nothing. What's your concern, because I'm not sure what point you're trying to make?

Assuming our softs turn hard (smirk) how many committable offers do we have remaining? Montez being a badass and leaving for the draft early obviously can effect the number as well.

If one of the current QB’s believes he’s ready and if he has a lot of support on the team, bringing in a grad transfer could create dissension. I’m not saying that is the case. It’s only hypothetical because I have zero inside knowledge.

I think for a one and done to work you would want the guy to be the kind of guy that the team would gravitate to. You wouldn’t want a prima donna.

To answer your question, I’m not concerned. I’m just posing a sort of risk factor.

OK. Well, if that's the case and Roper/Chev/MacIntyre agree that they have someone who is ready then it is very unlikely that we'd bring in a grad transfer unless it was a Russell Wilson type situation with an absolute game changer talent.

I know that QB is a bit of a different animal since only 1 guy gets to play (mostly), but I didn't see anything negative at all about bringing in Travon this year to play RB.

Agreed. I’m 2016, the team knew Sefo was their leader and the guy they wanted. Why would anybody on the team have an affinity toward one of the current backups?
