Official Pre-Game Thread: CU @ Zona at 8:30 PM MT on Friday November 2 (FS1)

It's not necessarily Sumlin. Some 'insiders' have stated that someone outside of the program has Tate's ear and has steered him towards being a pocket passer which Tate believes is the pathway to the NFL.
While he definitely needs to develop his game as a pocket passer, he's not going to be the best pocket passing QB in any draft, so he shouldn't be ignoring the one aspect that actually makes him special as a player. He should look at Lamar Jackson as a first round pick and embrace that he is one of only a handful of people in this world with his type of physical gifts.

As it pertains to the game tonight, how worried are we about Tate on the zone read? Admittedly, I haven't watched many (any?) Zona games this year, but his highest rushing total in a single game this year has been 13. Every other game he's played in he's rushed for 8 or fewer times and he hasn't rushed for more than 40 yards.

Wasn’t all this mostly bc he was injured? And now, not injured as much?

Their RB will be enough for us - does not go down on initial contact. Tate will run enough to piss us all off.

High ankle sprain was what I remember.

That RB is doesn't give you much of a target, he's 5'7", looks shorter than that. He's about 190, though, I think?

He’ll probably read this post, agree, and return to 2017 form

Orrrr MM reads it and actually prepares for it this year!

Mac is one of the worst strategists evar. We’ve relied on halftime adjustments almost every game until last week.

So, if the boys want to play for Mac, we will see it early on in my opinion. This team seems to have a lot of fight in it, but the terrible coaching and the choice to not take Oregon State serious after the 28 point lead, means it is still a fragile team. If this team gets behind and quits, that is a dagger to MM.
I just do not have a gut feeling about this game?
