Well, we suck again. Fire Mac.

My choice, I would keep on Drake and Els. The D-line and LBs have been the strength of the team and actually some of the best position players in the conference.

Everyone else can go.

My choice would be to hire a competent head coach and let them decide if they want to keep any of the current coaches or not. No pre-conditions to the hire!

My question is: How confident are you that RG will make the right hire to catapult us forward with success vs. remaining at or below a middling NCAA program?

RG did get us the new facilities, but that was a one-two year window to capitalize on and we obviously failed.

Yeah we need to teach our WR’s how to drop balls. Outside of Shenault, Chev’s position group has been underachieving two years in a row.
2016 Ross, Bono and Fields performed above their talent, IMO. 2017 was infiltrated by a very arrogant mentality with the Blackout Boyz and the success they had the year before. I feel like the WRs this season are far from any kind of reason they are losing. I’d retain Chev as WR coach but nothing more. That’d be a demotion though and that rarely happens.

If nothing else, it showed that the branches on the coaching tree were not extensive.

And that’s the weird thing, looking at his resume, MM should have a decent coaching tree to pull from, but it seems he either couldn’t or was bad at using it. That either means coaches didn’t want to work for him or if they did, it was because they had no other choice.

I mean where would his record be if Jim Leavitt wasn’t looking for work in January? At what point was his DC search at that point?

iirc, David Gibbs is who RG & Lance were pushing but he chose TTU at the last which left us in no man's land. I have no idea where we'd have been able to go if JL hadn't become available.

New coach has to have full control over who the new staff is.

I would have no problem if that coach wanted to keep Drake or Chev but that has to be the coaches decision.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Mac is going to be back next year unless we completely lose out. This was an expected loss so I doubt RG makes a move because of this game. I think the buyout is just too significant if we go 6-6.

Listening to the post game press conference is absolutely nauseating. I can't believe how happy he seems after getting taken to the woodshed like that.
