'19 TNFR QB Jalen Hurts (Committed to Oklahoma)

It's OK to discuss the shortcomings of a QB who has largely been mediocre over the last two years as a starter. Criticism of his play and saying another QB, who has played in 3 National Championships and won 2 of them, would be an upgrade isn't "bashing Montez".
You could compare every guy in our lineup to guys on National Championship teams and they would usually come up short. What would the point be? When Hurts signs with the Buffs you can compare him to Montez.

not off limits ... just saying it in event somebody out there really thinks CU has a chance which they don't

The impression you give is that you think everyone else was really confident of CU landing Hurts and you were the only one keeping it real.

Am I doing it right?

Honestly, the best scenario for CU in 2019 may be if Lytle makes a huge jump and pushes Montez in the fall and takes over the starting position before conference play. I don't think we're winning more than 6 games with Montez next season.

Why is this off limits for discussion? We talk about hypotheticals all the time here.
It isn’t off limits at all. I just don’t think we should compare him with Montez as if he is coming here. That’s all.

Good landing spot for him. Rattler will be able to redshirt (but still play in 4 games) and Hurts runs the show for the next year. Win/win for everybody.

Well, everybody within the OU program. Everybody else is kind of screwed.

That's really easy for Lincoln to say in January. Lets see what happens when Hurts looks shaky in conference play and UT is next up on the schedule.
Everyone acts like he's some terrible QB. If it weren't for a 5 star phenom in Tua being as good as he is, Hurts would have been the starter and he would probably 40-3 as a starter for Alabama. Maybe 39-4, I highly doubt Spencer Rattler (if he stays) is going to be as good as Tua right off the bat. It's not that common to be that good.
