MBB GAME THREAD - CU vs. USC | March 9th @ 3pm | Pac 12 Net

Legit 6'10" 230. Wasn't spectacular at SDSU but played on a pretty good team. Was medically retired due to open heart surgery due to an infected aneurysm. Had the rest of his education paid for if he wanted to stay at SDSU but missed basketball a lot and wanted to move back closer to home.

Sometimes that first round bye create's lethargy, I believe being the 5 seed helps the Buffs more than being the 4th in this case (getting Cal).

As far as the bubble talk goes, we don't actually have any idea how the committee is going to decide who is in and who is out this year given they are using new methodology.

**** USC.

They buy players, still suck, and then get caught.

**** em.
Yes, **** Andy ****ing Enfield. During today's game, I realized that I never cared one bit about USC hoops until Andy ****ing Enfield came around. Yes, Zona fans are bad, but I ****ing hate USC with a passion. Enemy #1 in the Pac-12. Hopefully Enfield sticks around awhile and continues to fail with his band of whiny underachievers.

You can buy talent, harder to buy desire.

This Buffs team has at times been frustrating but it is easy to see why Tad talks about enjoying coaching them.

Kin was a great example of desire before he hurt his shoulder, a guy who backs down from nobody. An injury that would put a lot (most?) guys out for the season and he keeps playing harder. Battey coming back from his health issues, Bey who takes on guys who outweigh him by substantial amounts, the more they try to physically beat him up the more he turns it on on both ends of the floor.

Our young guys who have made their mistakes but keep playing hard and getting better as well.

They drove me nuts at times this year and we still saw some of the same things we have in the past with scoring droughts and a couple of road stinkers but given the choice of a team like USC or UCLA with more recognized talent coming out of HS or this team with their character I'll take these Buffs every time.

Someday the Enfield era will end, and it will end poorly. But it won't have the satisfaction and finality that I really want, unless he's being stuffed into a van in handcuffs, crying his beady eyes out.

No matter how many times you repeat it, Oregon State is still not a bad loss.

100% this. Looking back at the season OSU probably isn’t in the top 5 of games I’m pissed about.

Gatling is becoming a fave of mine. When Boatwright fouled out he was waiting to check in. Gave a little mocking salute to him and then waved to Andy. It was beautiful.

Indiana State
Wazzu
Stanford
Hawaii

In that order. But San Diego does not make my list. Nope. Not gonna do it.

I think it's safe to say that while SC may not consider CU to be a rival in football ... they might want to start thinking of us a rival in basketball. Because we sure as hell hate them with a passion. And we kick their ass.

Buffs were mentally tougher and executed when it mattered. I figured it would be a lot tougher than v UCLA who didn't defended CU nearly as well as USC did.

At this point it really is mental toughness and execution that's propelling the Buffs. They had to be patient in this game as USC was willing to slow things down as aware of Gatling, etc. At the same time Battey was exceptional down low. He has some awesome old school positioning an simple, but effective moves. Everything is absolutely below the rim.

USC had the lead at the half in part due to their hitting the perimeter shots while the Buffs did not. In the second half the Trojans weren't able to get good looks from the perimeter and CU just worked them down low on offense. It really was something.

Can't figure out a bracket, but that's okay.;)

My Toreros are currently up by 39 points over BYU with 13 minutes left. I think I can safely go to bed.

Meant to put this in the other games thread.
