looks like it will be CU and Stanford again. This time in the semi. I do not see Oregon beating Stanford.

My impression of the other team sports I've followed closer and longer than lacrosse is that polls seem to be one of the least significant things (if they matter AT ALL) to tournament selection committees, but assume it can't hurt the Buffs are up to #22 in the country.

Congrats to the team. Now kick A in the Pac 12 tourney!

Wow- big day for Ms. Stinson- 2nd piece of cool news!

Also, as expected, it will be the trees that the Buffs face off against tomorrow-

(Late) game day!

Live video : Game is being shown live on the Pac 12 National, Oregon and Mountain channels. For those whose Cable/ Satellite/ Cord Cutting subscription includes access to those Pac 12 channels, believe the game can also be streamed through a link at https://pac-12.com/womens-lacrosse/event/2019/04/26/tbd-0 .

Buffs take a 3 goal lead into the half.
(Impressive given they've been doubled up (6-12) in draw controls, with a turnover advantage (4-8) and free position shot efficiency (4-8 vs. 2-8) helping even things out.)

Still 13-8.

Buffs take a timeout with 14:23 left after taking awhile trying to advance the ball after a great defensive sequence.

Game Recap: Lacrosse | April 27, 2019 | Linda Sprouse, Associate SID

EUGENE, Ore. – Behind five goals from sophomore Sadie Grozier, the No. 22 University of Colorado lacrosse team charged past No. 20 Stanford, recording a 16-9 decision in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals on Friday night at Pape Field.

"We are excited obviously; we knew this was a game we had to come out and compete in," head coach Ann Elliott Whidden said. "All our games with Stanford were tight and down to the wire [this year], so we just needed to focus on 60 minutes. I thought our players really played with a lot of heart and competed for a full 60 minutes."

The Buffaloes finished second in the Pac-12 standings with an 8-2 mark and are now 10-6 overall with the win as they return to the Pac-12 championship game for the second time in as many years. They will face top-seeded Southern California, which defeated California earlier in the day.

"This is a tough conference with USC, Stanford and us," Whidden said "I think it's always a battle right now and to be able to make it to the championship again, I'm just excited. I think we have a little bit of a chip on our shoulder going into this game knowing how it ended last year for us. We are excited to be back where we are, and I think it's going to take even more hard work on Sunday."

Besides Grozier's five goals, the Buffs recorded four from Miranda Stinson and three from Samantha Nemirov, in addition to four more from three other players.
...

KEY STATISTICS: The Buffs recorded four man-up goals on five Stanford yellow cards…The Buffs also converted on six of 10 free-position attempts, while SU only made two of eight.

NOTABLE:
  • Samantha Nemirov extended her school record point scoring-streak to 36 games
  • Miranda Stinson scored the 13th and 14th man-up goals of her career, which is the CU record
  • With their goals on Friday, Nemirov and Stinson have combined for more than 100 goals this season
  • Sadie Grozier earned her 30th goal of the season
  • She also had her fifth career hat-trick, tying her career high with five goals in the game.
  • This was the fourth neutral site game between the two teams. CU is 2-2 in those games.
  • Stanford leads the all-time series 8-6
  • The win was the 10th for the Buffs, giving them their sixth straight season with 10 or more wins
...

UP NEXT: The Buffaloes will face Southern California on Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT, in the championship game of the Pac-12 Tournament.

Kind of a tough start, but thankfully the defense has been OK to minimize damage, but the Buffs still haven't scored with 13:02 left in the 1st half as the trojans take a timeout up 0-3.

Buffs now have to take a timeout after yet another goal allowed. Down 0-5 with 10:52 left.

Ugly 1st half, but Buffs get a late goal to hopefully at minimum give them the confidence to play a strong, prideful and composed 2nd half.

Oh well- I need to do something else, and barring a miracle I won't be missing much. The team has continued to play hard, but doesn't seem to have ANY answers to USC's defense, and the few shots they've had (almost all from distance and/ or off balance) have been saved by the usc keeper. It's 1-10 with around 13 minutes left.

Props to USC- they've been playing great.

USC is showing up well. We just have no answers for them.

Hopefully they did enough to get an at-large bid. Record's not great, but the schedule was brutal and there aren't "bad" losses.

What an up and down year. They get killed by USC and move up in the rankings. I hope they get a bid. After soccer this year I am not to hopeful
