I acknowledged those programs have more money, but assuming he is successful enough at CU to warrant being poached, CU should be able pay him enough to keep him away from a step down in prestige at one of those middling BIG programs.

You might be right. We'd probably be looking at assistants being poached before Tucker, a la Leavitt situation. With all the talent Kap is on, I could see other schools swooping him away if/when the line starts to perform at a high level. Keeping up with the Joneses when comes to assistant salaries seems to be the bigger issue.
More like everything the last guy did was wrong from the beginning, and the new guy is doing it all perfectly.
I've heard that line since Hawkins was hired. If Mel wins, then he did it perfectly!

While this is very true, the coaching experience between Embree and Tucker is night and day. Remember Nick Saban hired Tucker 3 different times.
This is just a much different feeling and hire. We haven’t made a hire like this since maybe McCartney.

Especially since when you are losing coaches it usually means that good things are happening. Other schools want your coaches because you are winning.

I don't understand the fear of success I read in so many posts. I would encourage as many of you, if the opportunity presents itself to meet our HC.
You will see for yourself that the program is in great hands. All focus is on the future, the past has zero bearing with this staff. Every aspect in the program is being handled differently, look at S&C, nutrition, media, accountability for every coach in recruiting. Embrace the future fu.ck the fear of past coaching staff failures. We are going to be the Alpha dogs of the PAC 12. I see the direction the program is going in, you guys see what's going on trust your eyes. It will be a journey for sure, the great thing is it's started and everyone here is in the front row. It's a hype thread enjoy it.

Miller looks healthy
Chris Miller is an awesome Buff already. He follows, retweets, and encourages basically every recruit and commit we are after to come to Colorado and let’s them know he will show them around town like Von Miller does for the Broncos.

I know that this is a hype thread, but I generally agree with you. I met Tucker at a pretty small lunch thing a couple weeks ago and even got to have an informal 5 minute one-on-one conversation. He is confident in himself and could have been a D1 head coach a long time ago (as did almost all of his age-contemporary top assistant college coaches). He said that he didn't want to jump around to different HC jobs and wanted to start and stay in a nice place with recruiting potential, good facilities, tradition, and a simpatico AD. He feels like he checked all the boxes, and here he is. He just bought a house locally (won't post where) and wants to be there indefinitely. He has kids and a wife who have moved around a lot previously. He told me: "Now I have win some games." I think he will.

He saw when Colorado was a Top 10 team and had a National Brand, and if you add up all the jobs in America, maybe he feels that all the pieces are in place for him to have a long future with less expectations, a great place to live, and a chance to be something special. Obviously if he does really, really well, and the Wisconsin Job opens up, then that is where we would lose him to.
